Good, let the fundies and tee baggrz issue a fatwa against these Republican laggards who at the last possible moment are trying to switch sides so their college age grandkids won't refuse to look at them over the holiday dining table.

And just where have these "moderate Republicans" been for the last 10 or 20 years? Typical politicians, watching a group of people running by them, and they say "Where are they going? I want to lead them".

It's progress, but they can't really expect us to forgive them for their past cowardice.

Essentially the GOPasaurs are finally beginning to realize they lost this fight, and the only way to be a viable national party going forward is to move beyond this issue.

I think most of them secretly hope the SCOTUS overturns the bans soon and then they can just blame the "activist" courts and move on like they never really opposed it anyways.

Our job will be to remind them of their decades of opposition to equality every chance we get.

This coming from 2 RED states and this is an election year. Someone needing votes?? Or do they really mean what the caption reads under the headline? hmmmm.

They need the votes.

More specifically, they need the votes of those under 30 who overwhelmingly (75%+) support marriage equality if they want to be a viable party in the future.

The strategic Republicans know they won't lose that many conservative votes over the issue. I mean, who are the anti-gay conservatives going to vote for, the Democrats?

The rest of the Republicans are just hoping the SCOTUS rules and gets it over with. They can then say they tried to stop it but those "activist judges"....
