Any type of gambling is a risk. You should only play what you can afford to lose. Totally agree there are more losers printed now, while they show how many winning tickets are printed on their website what they don't tell you is that there are more losers printed between the winners. Actually won 1000 on a 5 dollar crossword, when I turned over the ticket the odds were 1 in 25,000..Holy crap ! Simple math tells me they sell. 75,000 with 1 1000 winner. If you looking to win a few grand fast, the cheapest way the Pick 3 is the way to go..Odds are always 1000-1. Put 5 bucks on a number on separate tickets and collect 2500 tax free. Its your safest bet and your best odds.

I win often, no big $, 40,$80,$290,$330. I win when Linda draws the numbers. She is positive, bubbly, uplifting. There's one drawer who I never win with. Most of the time she pulls there is something wrong with the machines, either it takes too long for the balls to come up or the machines malfunction. I wish they could tell us when each person will draw, I'd only play on days that Linda is pulling.
you got it right ...now that the state does not run the lottery I won 1 time on pick 3 & 4 in 1-1/2 years when the state had it I won $290 every two weeks now zip its a sacm ..sick of it..

Yeah, If you really want to disappoint someone buy them some Illinois scratch-off tickets. A really good way to ruin someone's day. I have seen this on so many occasions, birthdays, xmas, father's/mother's day etc., where someone opens are greeting card and outfalls some Illinois Lottery scratch-off tickets. Everyone cheers, the person has a big smile, then scratch's off $5,10, 20 even 50 dollars or more worth of tickets, and then Oh, I didn't win anything, or I won a won a free ticket or maybe if you're lucky, maybe a $2 winner from a $10 card. Then the person always looks so sad. Better luck next time they say. Yeah right not in Illinois. I quit playing them, If I am driving out of state, then I might buy some, but never in Illinois. I notice the drop in winning tickets here years ago and quit buying them, I have told others not to buy them too and Do NOT to buy me any, just give me the cash instead. I am also convinced Illinois is running a BIG scam. Hopefully others will notice this too and quit playing them. You are just going to be disappointed and lose your hard earned money. I think you would have better luck picking the horse/dog races or gambling on sports, least then you will have a chance in winning. Just say NO to Illinois.

I asked live chat on lotto site to tell me how many people have actually won their hit or miss game. I've never seen a winner on their site since March. They said they didn't have the information to answer my question. THAT answered my question. It's another scam. I asked if the numbers were drawn or computer generated based on numbers played. They could not answer that question either. They could not answer 100% of my questions. If the lotto reps can't answer simple questions, it's a scam.

the last 2 years i have noticed a big reduction in winners for the scratch off games. the last 30 win for life tickets i bought not even a free ticket winner. Anyone else notice this? Me thinks the state is trying to get more money out of this without telling us. THE CORRUPTION CONTINUES.
I buy scratch offs, and I'm pretty sure fake tickets are arround, I do get winners, but some places the same type ticket will look and feel different, and will be a looser. I feel the lotto vend machines hold honest tickets.

Michigan displays a breakdown of Pick 3 and Pick 4 winners, while illinois does not. It is quite possible that the Pick 4 could go for two months without any straight win.
Also, the regular Illinois Lotto used to have a jackpot winner every two weeks at minimum. Now, the Jackpot is won about 2 or 3 times a year.

Talk about scamming

We own a store , selling lottery tickets seemed like a nice idea to bring more customers in. However the last 2-3 months our "count " has been off and we are not making any money selling them and we sell quite a few. In fact this past month my husband was told he owed 600.00 in ticket money and now they tell us we owe 800.00, we had 683.00 in ticket sales. Usually we make way more at 5cents per tickets . Does anyone know what scam is going on here?

Isn't it unusual that lucky day lotto jackpot is 1150000 and almost all the draws to get it up to that figure there is a number over 39 ??. As people who have played the game for years using the same numbers , will not have a number over 39 as they recently added 6 more numbers bring the highest number 45 . What are the odds of that illinois lottery . Scam . I am done with lotto , don't waste your money I have wasted too much . You won't win when it's fixed .

Has the Illinois scratch cards had their odds reduced?

I have noticed an interesting and rather disappointing apparent change in the odds related to the winning numbers and prize symbols on Illinois lottery scratch card games that are not expressed on the odds' approximate win prediction on the back of the cards. Several friends who enjoy these games are reporting the same phenomenon. Ever since the State of Illinois recently complained about the shortfall in the revenue that was apparently promised to the State by the company that runs the Lottery it is my (and others) observation that it is clearly more difficult. to win much. As an example, it is my habit to invest $20 per week for ten $2 cards. Over the past year I routinely would win an average of $4 per investment. Since the State complained my already modest winnings has suddenly dropped to $2, a decrease of half of what I normally would recover. I'm curious if anyone else has noticed this or have I simply fallen on personal bad-odds times?

Trinket is right they need to move it out of Chicago. Or better yet take the city of Chicago out of Illinois completely. They can make their own state called the Peoples Republic of Chicago. Although this weekend my boyfriend did win $1000 on the Black Pearls scratch off card!
I agree that Chicago should be it's own state. Chicago is a drain on the rest of us. Boooooooooo Chicago get out of here and take your gangs with you.

The only people that win more often are from small towns. The south suburbs like Burbank, bridgeview, oaklawn, seem like they never win. I am so disgusted with the scratch offs. I am buying 10.00, 20.00 tickets and the most I have won in 3 years is like 500.00 which was a miracle cuz most tickets don 't pay nothing.
