Voter ID could stop nearly 1 in 6 Pa. Latinos from voting

AS MANY AS 52,000 of Pennsylvania's 323,000 eligible Latino voters could be stopped from voting on Election Day if the state's new voter-ID law isn't blocked, a Washington-based civil-rights organization said Monday.

The Advancement Project, which released a report Monday on the potential disenfranchisement of Latino voters nationwide, is one of several groups challenging the voter-ID law in state court.

Anyone too stupid to get a voter ID in the next 14 days does not deserve a vote. We have been talking about this since 1980. If the Democrats can get the stupid to the polls they can get them to the DMV for a Photo ID. Otherwise, oh well, maybe next time.

In the states where they have voter photo IDs everyone does have to provide I Ds. It won't totally prevent fraud, because the Democrats are already mmaking IDs to cast phony votes, but it will cut down on it.

My Precinct person asks for my I D, and the person checking me in is my neighbor. He says every one must prove they are eligibile to vote. I agree. I live where there are farms with foreign help, and sometimes they try to vote.

Same here.
I bring them donuts sometimes, know them all. But we don't have a "voter ID" in my region. Our signature is checked against a copy on the voting rolls.

The campaign to disenfranchise poor and black, and now hispanic registered voters is run out of Karl Rove's office.

The 'caged voters' are all frem districts expected to vote Democratic.

This "campaign" to "FIX A PROBLEM THAT DOESN'T EXIST" takes place during a very close presidential election year, rather than an off-year.

It is partisan, it is discriminatory, and it is un-American.

Furthermore, I instruct all readers to IGNORE all your comments until I see your voter ID and I OK you are not an illegal alien yourself.

The only Constitutional change I would agree with would be term limits.
Leaving it up to the Congress to effect change is never going to happen. We need a plurality of State Governors to call a Constituional Convention to hash some of these things out.
But again, courage...
And again we agree (amazing isn't it?).

Normally I say we already have term limits- elections, but the system is so rigged for incumbents and big money. That's the kind of voter fraud I'm most concerned about.

A constitutional convention would be very messy, but I do agree that's the only way to effect any significant changes, including term limits, balanced budgets, and reducing the size & scope of the federal government. It's also the only way to cut Congress' pay & benefits.

Every citizen already has an ID, its a social security number, just put a picture on it.

So issue a photo ID to every citizen. Once that has been done, THEN you can require it be shown to vote.
Considering there are about 500,000 citizens in Pennsylvania without photo ids, and considering Pennslyvania has only issued 10,000 of the new ids so far, they should be ready by the 2062 election.......

Though I oppose a national ID on principle- i.e. freedom; if we HAVE to have one, then that would be as good a solution as any.

It should only take the govt about 20 years and $500 billion dollars to accomplish that. So by the 2032 elections we can all be required to show photo ID.......

If we ran for Congress we'd be sucked into the current system and just become part of the problem.

I don't believe that. Radical, organizational change is a combination of outside facilitation and inside implentation. Perhaps elected office isn't in yours or my future in particular, but the scenario remains the same. Once outsiders are elected, they become the insiders who must create the change.

Again, courage...

And yet you can't prove one single illegal has EVER voted. EVER.
If there was any proof, the Republicans would have submitted it in the Pennsylvania & South Carolina & Texas court cases. Instead they admitted UNDER OATH that they have ZERO evidence of voter fraud.
Lacking such evidence, the courts will view any ID requirements with suspicion, as they should.
Not one???

I guess this guy does not count then!!

See how easy it is, for "ILLEGALS" to get fake ID's and VOTE!!

How about this guy???

It was good enough for him to work as a security supervisor in an AIRPORT!! Do you think he was to scared to go to the polls and vote??

A whole 3. Out of millions of votes.
Yeah, that justifies disenfranchising millions of legal citizens.
Why don't you just cut the crap, sheeple! My mother never had a driver's license, so she went and got her ID in order to cash checks, open a savings account, and go to various functions that required ID to drink. nuff said.
Government assistance, purchasing liquor and cigarettes, cashing a cheque, are not constitutional rights. As for guns, hell ya, you don't want to sell to a known criminal. The difference is, people break the law with guns everyday, where as, approx 1 out of 15,000,000 registered voters commit voter impersonation.
