Health-Care Outbursts Foreshadow a Hot August

Full story: ABC News - Brian Ross

Loud outbursts, hot tempers and pleas for civility at town hall meetings around the country Saturday foreshadowed a long, hot August as Democratic lawmakers returning home faced resistance to proposals to reform the nation's costly health care system.

I do not trust the congress/obama's attempt to gain further control of the American populace through a take over of the American Health Care industry.

The support of the AMA is a joke! Only 13% of America's docs belong to the AMA and most of these are NOT PRACTICING physicians!!

What we have here is something this country has not seen before. A real, grass roots uprising and the embers that flamed the fire started long before Obama took office. Conservatives were angry about the war in Iraq...the spending on their infrastructure was enormous, and not without scandal. The war has lasted too long...and, we hope that the outcome for Iraq will be stable when our troops leave. I, for one, am doubtful. Then, Obama promises in his campaign that he will fix the economy and health care ......and, everything that is wrong with America. He begins by throwing money at losers and printing money out of thin air. He does not want accountability....he wants his plan implemented now without delay. Now, the people of America are more than disappointed...they are fighting mad, and when they voice their opinions, they are called insurgents and hot heads. This will not wash. The health care bill is doomed simply because Obama could not push it through. Too many people have actually read the bill and it is a disaster waiting to happen.

We need health care for everyone. Obama of all people knows the importance of having such health care. He watched his mother search for information on which insurance company would cover her while she had cancer. Imagine being very sick and working hard so see whether you're covered or NOT!
The government is not trying to take over health care, they're just working to make sure everyone is covered. If you have health care you like - good, some people have none. Some people work hard every day and still don't have coverage. We must not think only of ourselves. Look past your circumstance today and think about the kinds of circumstances people face as they go through life. Nothing is guaranteed. You really never know when you may find yourself or a loved one needing health care and not being insured. In addition, if we don't insure everyone we will not be able to track diseases that may spread to become out of control. If you don't want health care because you have coverage, remember that those who are not covered may cough on you on the way to work or when they're preparing your sandwich or at the movies etc.

Healthcare is NOT a friggin' RIGHT.It is a personal responsibility.Time you libs learned that.Obama IS trying to take over healthcare. With a Gov't bureaucracy. It will SUCK if passed. As far as those who say they "can't afford it" let 'em die.Decrease the surplus population.Obama is not a real citizen. The sooner impeached, the better.Seems like most of those who "Can't afford it" have cars and computers.Sure,we could use some Insurance reform. But NOT a Gov't takeover. That is communism.Does "everyone" deserve healthcare?NO!Those on welfare do not.Illegals do not.And THAT was a stupid remark."If you don't want healthcare because you are covered".How stupid can you GET?If you are covered, than you OBVIOUSLY want healthcare. And are willing to PAY for it.YOU just want a HANDOUT!

A government should care about the health of their people. I'm sick of this handout buzz word, if you have health insurance and used more money than you paid into it, you're taking a handout.

Secondly, we're already paying for people who don't pay, the money has to come from somewhere.
A hospital nearby is pretty known for being filled with low income families treating the ER as some kind of clinic and the hospital is going to try and make it back from those who can pay by charging them more.

At the very least there NEEDS to be some kind of reform on health insurance in general, considering how often they pretty much rob people.

Insurance companies pretty much decide if it's in their best interest to pay for your care, even if you been paying them for years and had no signs of illness up til then.

Reform?Fine.Gov't takeover?Absolutely NOT.And the Gov't has NO BUSINESS interfering with private matters.Healthcare is a personal responsibility. And if MY taxes go up to pay for YOUR sorry azz,THAT is a handout. And insurance have you sign a contract. It TELLS what is covered and what is not.If you don't like the terms, you don't have to buy. That's freedom, isn't it?The Gov't generates NO MONEY.They STEAL it from the taxpayers.

You say that health care isn't a right, it's a responsibility. Who taught you that? If that is so, please let many of the large corporations who don't offer health coverage to their employees know this.I feel that it is irresponsible to hire people, make them work 8 or more hours a day at minimum wage, reap the financial benefits of their hard work and not compensate them with the means to stay alive - especially if you can afford it. Please, let the insurance companies know this - the ones who will turn down people who want to pay, but have a pre existing illness.
Finally, life has a funny way of throwing your own words back at you. When you're sick and possibly dyeing without coverage don't say I didn't tell you so. "You live by the sword, You die by the sword." What you put out you get back.

I think that you didn't understand what I wrote, maybe I wasn't clear enough, so; I'll write it a different way. Here goes: If you don't want a health care program that covers all of those who do not currently have health coverage because you have coverage right now and that's all you care about.....(basically you're selfish).

Selfish?I fought in Vietnam. For THIS country.I raised MY OWN kids. Two of them served in the current war.My oldest teaches school.(Private,of course). Why should I care if the worthless slackers have no healthcare.I KEEP what I EARN.You have no right to pick my pocket. You liberals make me puke.Since you are incapable of earning your own living, you leech upon those of us who can and DO.So do us all a favor and decrease the surplus population.

Daily Horoscope for December 19

Leo

A loved one is being rather tetchy today. It won't take much to get on their nerves, even if you think they're being grossly unfair about it. Try not to make the situation worse by being sarcastic or provocative. Instead, encourage them to tell you what's wrong but without raising their voice. Once you know what you've done to irritate them you can start to put it right.
