Good for him!

He's religiously opposed... but gets the notion that this is a personal freedom and equality issue, which speaks to conservatives as much as liberals.

"Conservatives" nowadays are really of 2 differnt types.

The "Traditional Conservatives" in the mold of Barry Goldwater and Robert Taft, who believed in limited governmnet, maximum LIBERTY, and fiscal responsibility.

Today's Conservatives have been largely hijacked by "Social Conservvatives, who are mostly Evangelical Christians, who do NOT believe in limited government and maximum LIBERTY (but do agree with Tradtional Conservatives hwne it comes to fiscal responsibility).

The "Social Conservatives" such as the Roman Catholic Church, Sothern Baptist Convention, and other socially conservatives groups, WANT GOVERNMENT INTERFERENCE in our personal lives. They are the OPPOSITE of the historic Conservative, and the current "Traditional Conservative".

Because the social conservatives basically hijacked teh Republican Party a long time ago, I became a Libertarian 25 years ago, and have never looked back.

I wish the Republicans WOULD get back to the "Traditional Conservatives" that they once were, and NOT the "Social Conservatives" that they became, which is really diametrically opposed to their fundamental principles.

That's just simply NOT true. The Tea Party is a diverse group of people and organizations who are united in demanding FISCAL RESPONIBILITY of the federal government, and all other governments in the U.S.

People in the Tea Party Movement are united on that alone. Since social conserbatives usally also believe in fiscal responsibility, it's no surprise that they have joined. But is is equally true that Libertarians and other socially liberal people and groups are members because they believe in fiscal responsibility also.

HOW is the 12 TRILLION DOLLAR debt that Obamaniac® and his Democratic cohorts and cronies in congress have run up, going to be paid ? I don't think it's possible, and I am certainly NOT the only one to think that.

(And I put my money where my mouth is. For the past year, because I have NO faith in Obamaniac®, and believe he IS PURE EVIL becaue he is an avowed socialist, I have spent thousands of dollars buying GOLD. I follow the market each day, and so far, my investment is up 25% in just the past year. I urge EVERYONE to buy GOLD, no matter how little it is because dollars will be worthless in the foreseable future.)

Th religious fascists have to have SOMEPLACE they can call home. The Republicans are getting tired of losing elections because of them. I don't think the religious fascists are that welcome in the Republican camps anymore.

But that doesn't really matter since the teabaggers seem to LOVE them!!

Today's republican party is of the same mentality of Europe when Kings and Queens ruled with their religious beliefs which resulted in oppression for many centuries.

Its about time some republicans are beginning to see the dangers of religious rule of law. Yes it is time for once to separate church and state.

Change starts with one person, and cascades from there. The days of NOM, Focus on the Family, and their hatred-justifying, fear-mongering, self-victimizing ilk are numbered.

Racist, pedo, Daniel from LI, has a real head of steam up again. He's best mocked, not replied to directly in any substantive manner.

Unless you simply want to litter the threads with more of his crap.

I wish what you say was true. There was a time, early on when I thought it may be true. The religious right has them firmly now.
