Glad to hear it. Iowa has a lot of sharp people, and they don't need some creationist clown show going on.

that sucks evolution is allowed to be taught but not creationism? Evolution is a theory not a law it has never been proven! most of the people in this country believe in God and are actually christian so if you dont allow creationism to be taught then the theory of evolution should not be taught either!

Your statement (above) is EXACTLY why the Theory of Evolution, and science in general should be specified in our Public Schools.

"Theory" in science does not mean a guess or assumption.

The definition of Theory:

"1. A set of statements or principles devised to explain a group of facts or phenomena, especially one that has been repeatedly tested or is widely accepted and can be used to make predictions about natural phenomena."

http://www.thefreedictionary.com/theory

++++++++++

"A scientific theory summarizes a hypothesis or group of hypotheses that have been supported with repeated testing. A theory is valid as long as there is no evidence to dispute it. Therefore, theories can be disproven. Basically, if evidence accumulates to support a hypothesis, then the hypothesis can become accepted as a good explanation of a phenomenon."

++++++++++

Furthermore, a scientific theory can not grow up and become a "Law".

Using the above definitions, there *IS* only one scientific theory that explains the diversity of life on earth: The Theory of Evolution.

Creationism is NOT science. It is religion, and therefore illegal to be taught in public schools.

Remember the old Schoolhouse Rock cartoons? One of them was how a Bill becomes a Law in the US.

Science is different. Theories never become laws. Theories are not bills waiting to be proven and then promoted to laws.

Evolution has nothing to do with Atheism, you are perfectly free to believe in God and accept Evolution.

Hope that clears things up.

Oh, so because you're a scientifically uneducated religious fundamentalist, everyone should be forced to be just as ignorant as you are. Ever wonder why we lag so far behind every industrialized country and even quite a few third world countries when it comes to science education?
