County recorders would be prohibited from issuing marriage licenses to same-sex couples and the Iowa Supreme Court would be unable to rule on the issue under a new bill sponsored by six conservative House Republicans.

Judged: 3 3 2 "Massie said his ambition behind the bill is to advocate Judeo Christian ethics as law." Well at least he admits he's trying to make his religious beliefs the law of the land. Is that even constitutional? Are we becoming a theocracy? |

Judged: 4 4 4 Massie wants Judeo-Christian law? How is he different from Osama bin-Laden in wanting Sha'ria law? Further to this, be careful of what you wish for GOP because someday you WILL be out of power in Iowa and you will find yourselves being held accountable. To the People - if things like this, regardless of your political views, do NOT make you fearful, angry and seek REASON, nothing will and you deserve the outcome and its ramifications. I thought Gabby Giffords shooting would have reset the tone. It did not. The time to stop this nonsense, this INSANITY, for that is what this is, is NOW!!! Eric |

Judged: 3 3 2 You draw an interesting conclusion. Years ago, President Bush stated that gay marriage should be brought to the courts for a decision. Gays went to court and judges started ruling in their favor. At which time, President Bush stated that the judges were "activist judges". President Bush then demanded that individual state legislatures and governors should decide the issue. The issue started hitting several states. Some rejected and some accepted it, but the states that accepted got the hits from the president. After that, it was up to the individual. Let me ask, how does a 78 year old, Social Security/Medicare, heterosexual recipient understand how I feel or what I am dealing with as a 34 year old homosexual male? Atrocious. Anyway, all that aside, I look at some of your pictures. You have a nice smile. I hope you are doing well and just wanted to capitalize on what you had to state on the matter. |

Judged: 4 4 4 I ask you seriously, with great sincerity - by what measure is this patriotic? The role of each branch of government is to check the power of the other two branches. The courts role is to insure that laws are in FULL accordance of the Constitution (state of Iowa in this case) and here you have legislators (of only one party) doing their best to circumvent the ruling of the States highest Court. What form of government allows a few to control the People in direct defiance of their own Constitution which these legislators have SWORN AN OATH to uphold?! This is wrong. Eric |

Judged: 1 1 1 So, let me see if I have this right ... you think that in matters of Iowa State Constitutional Law, that YOU are more wise, more intelligent and/or more learned and deliberative on the issue of same-sex marriage than the Justices of the Iowa State Supreme Court, whose oath sworn job and DUTY is to defend and uphold the State of Iowa Constitution?!! Where did you get you law degree from? Eric |

Judged: 2 1 1 You did not answer the issues raised by me as a matter of law. That is an evasion on your part. It is a reply but not an answer. I see your reasoning. You think that because I'm homosexual that I am also a member of a pedophile group (that no longer exists in any meaningful way - but I digress) so I am so biased as to not even have remote credibility? That is a red herring designed to deflect away from the substance of what I posted as a matter of law. So using your logic, that gay = NAMBLA, then you must be equal to Ted Bundy or Osama bin-Laden or Jim Jones, because heterosexual equals mass murderer or member of Al Qaeda or a cult?!? Of course you are none of those things. I don't even have to know you to know this to be true. Why? I give you the respect that you have deny me, that's why. Until I have proof, real evidence, I must presume you are my equal, no better or worse a human being than I. Yes, I am biased because I am a homosexual and have a vested interest in the equality of law for all LGBT citizens of this nation. Do you admit your bias so freely and honestly? That one word I used however, is most critical - CITIZENS.(I am already legally married in California, for the record). LGBT people born in the USA are citizens and by Constitution, we are entitled to equal treatment under the laws of this nation. The 9th and 10th Amendments state that all rights not specifically enumerated in the Constitution are presumed to exist to all CITIZENS. By what law(s) do you presume that LGBT citizens should be denied the right to marry? I can go on with other amendments and laws. This is to me, a matter of law, of equality. Nothing more or less. I fight for the same rights of women to equal pay for equal work, but I'm not a woman. What's my interest? I fight for Native Americans to get redress for the decades of broken treaties. What's my interest? I fight for rights because first and foremost, I am an American Citizen and I BELIEVE in the Constitution and its wisdom. I BELIEVE in the American form of Government with its stated checks and balances. That is my interest. Now, if you wish to discuss this civilly and adress the legal points of law, let us do so. I am most happy to engage you. But make no mistake, you took a cheap shot, one that makes you look weak by associating me with NAMBLA. It shows a lack of honesty and integrity and it was most certainly meant to attempt to tarnish me. I will not work now or ever and I will never deny you your humanity, which you have already attempted to do to me. Best regards. Eric |

Judged: 2 1 1 But anti-gay people like you aren't doing anything about the fact that you are completely filthy, amoral scumbuckets. Day after day, you refuse to confront this behavior in yourselves. Why on this earth do you think anyone gay would listen to you? You all blatantly continue in your anti-American, sociopolitically rapist ways. At what point do you stop crying about the fact that you cannot force these innocent people to listen to a bunch of snot-sucking whores? You can't and won't win this, and so you simply attack them all day with your vitriol. Why do you get so, so, so angry that people are howling with laughter at your misfortunes by now? Please, wallow in your diseased, manipulative filth somewhere else. Christ. |

Judged: 1 Sure they could just like men who date girls who are not of consent age- just watch the degenerates on Maury --- what's your point too young - not legal -opposite sex or same sex – Also religious beliefs do not belong in secular law because in the US Catholics are the majority and according to their beliefs any form of birth control is a sin and would not legal in the US -- BTW every single member of NAMBLA should be prosecuted for their disgusting abhorrent intent and should not be able to organize due to their predatory practices. Never heard that about Ted Bundy do you have a place I can read about it. |
|
The Bible has no business in secular law -- because even those using the same book cannot agree -- is birth control a sin? Like the majority of Christians believe in the US? |

Judged: 1 1 1 Sorry to tell you bud, but you're already on your way. Over 60% of your population doesn't want marriage equality repealed. You were always one of the first on the forefront of granting civil rights, including ending the ban on interracial marriage. Now, you're well on your well to reversing that trend and ending up on the wrong side of history. And that's not to mention the fact that you let a bunch of carpetbaggers come in and tell you to remove those judges. Gullible? Definitely. Intelligent? Not quite... |
