Polls truly mean nothing.....besides until 2013 or 2014.....this question really is a mute point.

Iowa's Legislator's must first bring up an amendment, it must pass by 2/3 majority vote for 2 consecutive general assemblies and then it can be voted on by the people.

It won't be brought up until at least 2010........besides this is utter bull crap to even think that someone should have the right to vote on another person's right to marry someone of their choosing.

I do find it suspicious that almost 20% don't know how they would vote, but at least the rest are evenly split.

I thought minorities were protected by votes concerning them, by the majority. Guess that isn't so.

They are, but it has to go through the courts. That was the brilliance of our founding fathers....3 seperate but equal branches of government. The Supreme Court has the last say, and I am confident that one day, they will rule in our favor.
What I find very odd is the blatant audacity of hate groups that spend millions of dollars trying to do something they know is unconstitutional, yet there is no penalty for tying up our court system with endless lawsuits because they don't respect the Constitution. This is where our public school system has failed us.

I wish this was true.....but because of how the vote went with Prop 8.......people feel that they can dictate now who one can love and marry.

This really is an issue that may not even come up in Iowa......I mean it hasn't worked in MA.

We should all watch and follow the cases that are currently moving through the courts......that in my opinion will be a huge indicator on this issue.

Blessed Be

Perhaps the (almost) 20% undecided or not voting are people who may not support equality but don't feel right in voting to take away something from someone else. That to me would be a legitimate reason to not vote and I wish more people would adopt that attitude. You may not support us, but please don't stand in our way.

I mean my parents home, where they let me stay in their basement until I can get my GED. I hope that happens soon - like maybe in the next 5-10 years.(math is a bit hard for me, but then again so is anything that has to do with logic or thinking)
I'm guessing that by the time the vote comes along, so many people in Iowa will see how much gay marriage did not effect their lives, and even helped the economy, that the vote (if it even happens) will be come a non issue.

He didn't move, he just learned to hide his isp, and appear as if he was somewhere else... but if he wants to move, I'll pitch in for the ticket.

Homosexual 'marriage' is a cruel lie with no real basis in homosexual life.

92% of Iowans already said gay marriage has had no effect on their lives. The other 8% are most likely the gay population of the state.

So much for the end of the world if gays are allowed to marry.

Yet 41% of Iowans would still vote to ban same-sex marriage.

Hmmmm. Something's not right here.
