You bet Lingle went to Israel for a junket- I mean "facing forward conference!"

Just happened to be 60th anniversary of Israeli Statehood. Just happened when our worst president was visiting and spinning on his own. Just happened to study how to spin so she could prove her expertise and get certified in sin- spin- whatever.

She remains and belongs on bush's team- yet incredibly her cronies always defend her whenever anyone brings up bush, what a joke...

Lingle has repeated demonstrated she's multi-faceted and can face in more than one direction simultaneously.

Guess right now you could say that she’s even facing us with her behind.

What, pray tell, is the governor of the State of Hawai`i doing in Israel?

None of the other 49 U.S. governors are there. They're at home, tending to the affairs as chief executives of state government administrations they were elected to head.

I recall Linda's earlier vacation visit to Israel, and on her return, when she had her rabbi answer questions from concerned constituents instead of using her director of communications or other official government press aides.

Was this trip a vacation? Or another religious visit? Did she plant another tree to offend Israel's MidEast neighbors?

Maybe Linda is running for another office?

Or maybe its because she described George W. Bush as the smartest man she had ever met?

I guess we should all wonder why Bush is back there too. Is it part of his year-long final vacation as he tries to visit as many countries as possible to establish a legacy?

This is part of preparing the ground work for Congressional run. It would benefit her to have support of strong U.S. Jewish lobby with its funding. It is simply obvious as there are few little potential ties between Hawaii and Israel. And the Hawaii voters are not crying out for such visible support for the State of Isreal. The significance of this is not even under the Hawaii media's discussion. They take the media releases at face value. No investigation whatsoever. Lingle for Congress in 2010.

ask her how many American tax payer dollars have gone to support the religious apartheid state of Israel since 1948 and what we could have done with our money.

The Israeli state must stop religious discrimination against Christians and Muslims

Reminds me of something I just recently read.
(Their days are numbered and having served their purpose, they too shall move on to a new cycle where they can continue their experiences. All roads eventually lead back home to Ke Akua, and no soul is destined to stay within the dark forever. There is no way out for the denizens of the darkness as we are aware of their plans.)

Maybe Lingle should do the RIGHT THING and pay for her vacation trip herself and reimburse the taxpayers for her absence from Hawaii which qualifies as just "personal time." But, of course, the Dumocraps do the same thing and THAT makes it okie-dokie, right?'Nuff said...

Willes Lee was given the answer to the split in the party over the Akaka bill and he dismissed it without analyzing it. What does this tell you. I don't want the descendents of Asian immigrants to Hawaii to become morphed by political alchemy into "natives" of Hawaii as a technique to seal the dominance of Hawaii's Asian majority population over the rest of us---and with Obama, this is precisely what is going to happen. It's going to be necessary to split the party in two over this issue divided between Asians and non Asians, I fear.

Why would governot Lingle want to align herself with the worst President in the history of the United States. She must want the support of his cronies.
Do what we ask and we will support you. Give us a billion and we will make you the President.

I cannot believe the negative tone of most of the comments above!!!

Of the fifty United States of America, we should be very proud that our governor was the only one invited.

She is recognized as a competent and intelligent orator who happens to be female and Jewish. She is showcasing our state of Hawaii as another American representative among the world leaders.

I may not approve of everything President Bush has done, but we still should show respect for the office he holds.

I would be proud to have Linda Lingle be one of our US Senators after one of the Dans retires.

By the way, I am a registered Democrat and I'd like to have Case be the other US Senator.

Vote for the person, not the party.

Lingle is representing the State of Hawaii well in Israel. As for Bush, I can't wait until he is out of office. What a complete disgrace. His incompetence outshines anything noble he has done as President.

How and why is Israel a terrorist state? Is Israel like Al-Qaeda? Like Hamas?

"Lingle was part of a five-member panel discussing how to improve Israel's image throughout the world."

WTF is she doing? Why is the governor of Hawaii working on how to improve Israel's image? Bush was in Saudi Arabia yesterday, defending against claims that the U.S. is favoring Israel too much.

"The issue became: How do you combat media when media is showing these compelling pictures of, say, a child dying?"

Why is the governor of Hawaii worrying about how to "spin" dying children in Israel? Maybe she should work on policies to stop the killing of children, instead of trying to spin their deaths into a positive. And why does she feel the need to "combat" the media. The media just reports. Too much "Combat" in this neocon Bush-Lingle team.

Please don't let her in the Senate.
