Racism? Ive been in Hinesville for almost a year now, and havent seen it. If you think this is the worst town in america because of racism, you have apparently never been to chicago, or rockford. Racism is EVERYWHERE. Its wrong, but its the truth.

The town of Hinesville has a black mayor, majority black city council and majority black school board. Both of the middle schools are named after black citizens. I'm not sure why they seem so racist.

What about Philadelphia, or pretty much any city in Pennsylvania?! Pennsylvania is the most racially discriminatory state, and Philadelphia is the state's worst offender!

Like everyone has said there is racism everywhere, but it's up to anyone to make better decisions on how we treat each other but of course not based on ethnicity but on character. The WORLD would be a much better place...as cliche as it sounds it's the truth.

Thank you, for pointing out those facts, considering im about to move to Hinesville, it was becoming hearing all the negative remarks about racism, but when you pointed out that there are black americans in office and schools named after them, that shows me the very opposite, only because what ever the majority of a town is, black or white, they are who vote people in office, and if the town is predominantly white with black officials running the town doesn't seem racist, and if it's predominantly black well let's be real black people can be some of the most racist people due to what they have endured, it doesn't make it right but it's true. It's the cycle of any hurt or pain. Thanks for the insight

I agree that blacks do complain about racism a lot, and i myself am african american. despite all the complaining there are still racists, so maybe the complaining won;t stop until racism stops. But, there is racism against everyone and there will probably always be racism because humans have to have someone or something to blame. Native americans have also been mistreated, yet they express themselves differently and generally more peacefully than other minorities.
I will add my 5 sents along with this. I have been to many states and yes indeed, what used to be the KKK has turned the opposite way in this Dirty South. I cant even get a job anymore. If i go and the place where I apply has majority black people, guess what, I already know ahead of the interview im done. Jo knows mo here and that is the end of it. Rude pemployees, undereducated teachers. No worries, that whole deal with the kids is not better. I had to go to school countless times because my son was slammed against a locker, dry humped aso. If you have never been racist before.....GA makes it happen that you start to dislike People for a skincolor.

i am a white female soldier stationed at ft stewart, ga. i was shocked to find that numerous amounts of police officers have followed me while in the hinesville area. i was not breaking any laws, have proper registration and insurance. i feel that hinesville is very racist however i do feel that i was followed because i am from nj. the plates on my vehicle give it away. i have seen numerous amounts of police officers pull over vehicles that are from the north for no reason. the WAR is over between the north and the south. DEAL WITH IT!!!
You need to live in Albany Ga.for while, hinesville is tame compared to Albany. There are so many self centered and racist people all around in that town.so look around

The city of Hinesville & Ludowici are indeed smothered in racism. No it is not a surprise but it is STILL the truth. If you are not white you may never understand the difference between your lifestyle and a black persons lifestyle. SO WHAT if someone who is fed up is frustrated. SO WHAT! This entire country has been divided into pieces based on Slavery & wealth. This is what the AMERICAN people have learned black or white. What do you expect. The southern citizens are programmed to think a certain way most of the time. Keeping hatred alive and present throughout it's governing system and on down to the locals and inside of homes. Southerners owned so many slaves it's sickening. The media focuses on 12.30% of the population most of the time to delude the fact that the real barbaric race suffers far less than the victimized races. It is what it is, I find it highly annoying that white people feel the need to say that slavery has been over for many many years. NEWSFLASH. Black people suffer discrimination, racism, murder, unfair treatment, every single evil thing you could possibly think of TODAY. Why? Because they are black. It doesn't matter if you have a double masters degree or a six figure job. If the color of your skin is anything other than white guess what? You are undermined and judged b/c of it. So don't say it's oer when it's clearly not. TODAY, black people fight for equality and individualism. It doesn't matter what happens, racism will always be an unfortunate part of AMERICA.
