Whatever happens in the next two days, this case has brought out in the last few days one of the best examples of the "Liars Club."

If you have any doubts, just look at the figures cited about the number of 'signatures" presented requesting clemency. As each day the media has continued to inflate the numbers. It started out with figures of about 200,000 most of those "signatures" were not from anywhere in the United States nor from US citizens.

By today those SAME boxes now contain almost a million signatures. Makes you wonder what was going on in the boxes during the three nights ! LOL

Check for yourself.

who beleives in the death penalty,
all of this theater to grant him
clemency is right out of the anti
death penalty playbook .. same circus
went on, when by some miracle Cal executed
a vicoius killer known as Tookie Williams ..
Tookie had ten of thousands of supporters,
he even wrote some books for children while
he was on death row, all of the Hollywood
elite took up his cause, of course the
NAACP and the entire anti death penalty
apparatus whose goal is to dismantel the
DP and much of our justice system, one brick
at a time. Bravo, to the Boards decision
in not bowing to all of the activisits
pressure after a throurough review of this
case and denying clemency. This case has had more than a thorough review.

Just for records - now abt 3 hours before the scheduled excecution:
Massive protests from inside and outside USA.
I can assure you that 4,5 million Norwegians look at you with disgust. We are against capital punishment in principle and in each individual case, in any place and at any time.
Troy Davies is pleading innocent and there has never been found any concrete evidence that he is guilty of the killing of the policeman back in 1989.
USA - trying to teach the world values and considering itself a democracy. You should be endlessly ashamed of yourselves today.
The protests are coming from all over the world and amongst them are your 39th president Jimmy Carter, the Pope Benedict XVI, previous FBI boss William S. Sessions. New York Times has an editorial on the Troy Davis case today.
The case has been thrown to and fro in your court systems for twenty years.
And the only thing here now is that the slain cops mother will get peace when the most likely innocent
Troy Davies has been executed.
What a nation! United States of Assholes - not worthy the company of the rest of our developed, democratic world.
Get your act together and stop this evil execution that serves no good purposes AT ALL!

I wouldn't expect any less of an insane comment from Norway where pedophiles and child killers are treaded as royalty.

This from the country that gave Obama the Nobel. Better go back and finish the last six years of elementary school before entering into American debates

Very good!

Wonder how many times the Nobel selection committee has considered how they could get the prize back without them all looking like the fools they are.

I believe Davis is guilty of the crime and I am black. This scumbag deserves to die for what he did. Any human being that takes another human's life, if caught, should forfeit his own life. It sickens me that these death row inmates can murder people in cold blood and then have the nerve to beg society to spare their lives. Goodbye Troy. You are human garbage just like all the other prisoners on death row...I mean all of them and all races and genders. All these people should be made to suffer horrible deaths just like the victims whose lives they snuffed out. I am actually celebrating Troy's death. We need to cleanse the planet of all the human garbage like Troy. May his soul be tormented forever in hell after his death. Good riddance!

There is a heap of good reasons why the Nobel Peace Price was never awarded George W Bush.

That has to be as stupid a reply as I have seen in a long time. Nobody here even implied that Bush should have received it.

There is not one good reason to award Obama the prize unless you count Norwegian ignorance.

There were absolutely no good valid reasons for Obama to get the Nobel Peace prise, he had not done anything at all when it was awarded.--- nothing!

The real lesson in absolute stupidity by the committee was demonstrated in 1978 when the single person who got Sadat and Begin to come to the table did not share in the 1978 Nobel Peace Prize. Jimmy Carter was ignored for all he did, just because of that same type of stupidity. BTW I think Carter was one of the 10 worst Presidents.

There has been a certain element of socialism (ex politicians) in the Nobel Peace Prize Committee throughout the years. That - no doubt - has had an influence on some of the awards. Not unlikely in the case of Obama. But still you will have to look at that in the light of the fact that Obama represented a climb down of Bush and his absolutely dangerous and destructive policies - by any standard.
I accepted at last the award to Obama, sharing the hopes that were inextricably intertwined to his presidency. I still think that it was not that wrong - but understand very well the fact that very many were shaking their heads in disbelief, perhaps including Obama himself.
There is another Nobel Peace Prize to be awarded now in the near future. Nothing disclosed yet but curiosity is building up. I guess we may see an award this year that
supports completely different people and nationality - and being less congtoversial???
Life goes on - with all it's misery - and joy. Take care!

We trust ourselves and our oil. Difficult times ahead economically, but your problems are much more alarming than our
problems. You are divided in two - both halfs trying to destruct each other. I firmly believe that you are full speed ahead in the USA to destruct yourselves as the worlds biggest and most dynamic economy in this world ever.
The rough '20ies of the past century will be repeated before the majority of you Americans today are retired.
Cut mortgages and start saving ! Now!
And abolish capital punishment - it is not worthy of a sofisticated nation anno 2011.
