I am all for advancing with the technology, but have concerns about the standard alarms. Will the nurses have pre-set devices? If not the poses great risks for the patients alarms to be turned off. WIll this replace a central monitoring system? Where will the data from these alams be kept? Will we have to call the wireless companies to get records of all of our patient's alarm histories? Very interesting for the sake of convenience, but I don't think I would want to be one of the first facilities rolling this out!!
