My financial position is better due to the cutbacks my family has made. We are spending less on items that would help grow the economy.
My tax liability is worse, while my income has only increased slightly the taxes I pay have gone up. Also
Food, gas and energy prices are higher.
While my house is still worth more than I owe, I purchased it in 1990 its valve over that time period has only increased by just over 2%.

I have less Freedom now than I did 4 years ago which IMHO far more important than the financial as it affects the financial side.

So no I am not better off now than 4 years ago.

You missed that you reside in a Republican controlled City-County in a Republican controlled state and that the US House of Representatives currently holds the majority.

You also miss that 4 years ago was Sept 4, 2008...George Bush was President and the economy, particularly in Florida was already in the tank, the stock market around half what it is now, the housing market disintegrating as well as the auto industry.

There is no doubt that the nation is much better off today although many who lost their jobs are still struggling.

Oh I left out the unemployment numbers which was at was 6.1% and the African-American unemployment rate stood at 10.6%( http://money.cnn.com/2006/02/03/news/economy/... ). AS a point of reference was at 4.9% in December 2006 ( http://www.americanprogress.org/issues/econom... ) which was a month before the Democrats took majority control of both the house and Senate and maintained that control until January of 2011 when the Republicans gained control of only the House.
Please donít get me wrong here I place blame on both parties, especially on those who say they want limited government but they vote for more government. At least with Obama he did as he said he would and grew government no matter the cost, or deficit or damage to the economy. At this point I am voting for hope for less government instead of the guarantee of more government.

That wasn't the question was it?

And your post was misinformation or lies.

You're probably just another racist who got interested in politics when you woke up to a black man in the Oval Office and McCain and the idiot from Alaska standing on the sidelines stuttering.

You're going to be dealing with the black man for four more years maam, get used to it.

Seriously??? Hell no! I have had to allow my two adult children and one with a child to move back into my home where I am supporting all 5 of us! We are on food stamps and financial aid, I work 50 hours per week, my wife and my 2 adult children are unable to even get work at McDonalds!

Are you better off now compared to 4 years ago?

You are out of your freaking head if you think anybody besides the politicians are!!!

Misinformation or lies oh please find some numbers that counter what I stated and provide links as I did in post #6. How swallow are you, I for one donít give a dam the color of a manís skin that he cannot control and skin color has little to do with the decisions in how he or she might live their lives. However, a manís politics are something he controls and I am against a massive government who believes it knows better how I should live my life; spend my money, what I say or what God I should worship.

By throwing out a racist comment out of left field you sir or mama may need to take a step back and evaluate your own ideas about race. You seem to have issue with the color of the Presidents skin color and not me, all I see in the White House is a man to whom I disagree with his direction toward massive government and socialism.

Now if you wish to continue a debate based on issue then I would delighted to continue but keep your racist BS to yourself.

Why the remark about black unemployment? Florida has extraordinary in the construction-real estate and related industries due to the housing collapse which began in Florida in 2006, 2005 in certain areas.

There is nothing that anyone can do to bring those jobs back until all the excess housing inventory is sold off. Same in Nevada, parts of California and Arizona. That's where your unemployment is, put all those people back to work and UE drops a percent and a half maybe two.

Florida's homeowners lost, on average, 48% of the value of their homes, that's nearly half and keep in mind that a good many of those homes were owned outright serving as nest eggs. Commercial properties fell in value as did raw land values.

You just keep reading the opinion pieces and at the right wing blogs and eventually you'll be as crazy as the folks who write all that nonsense, I'll keep laughing at your dumb azz.

BTW, the federal court, as predicted, tossed out Florida's welfare drug test law and the state had to refund all those thousands of dollars that were collected, matter of fact that exercise in futility cost the taxpayers a couple of million in wasted tax dollars.

Guess you were wrong on that issue too?

Your joy ride will be over soon. The dollar is almost worthless now. Your kids will grow up to be freeloaders like you, but they'll be no freebies for them. Did you even think about that, or is your government handouts just used for your drugs?
