"Yes! Give me a break about the winners being only 140 miles apart. Did they think that just because it was won in 2 different states that people wouldn't notice? The Mega Ball is a one in a Billion chance. What a load of crap."

yeah your absolutely right, it is full of crap. probably that other winner in idaho was a lottery spokesman or worked for the government. they just set itup like that so that guy in washington couldnt take all the money. and the odds of winning are 1 in a billion like you sayed. funny how 2 people hit it at once.
the damn government is screwing everybody. stealing our money from lottery, spreading disease to our public resturaunts trying to kill us off. and making us build our houses in hurricane/tornado/ epidemic areas just to tear it apart.

interesting to read all your theories about rigging the lotteries. Of course if one can build a system for drawing the numbers then some clever dick can also build a system to corrupt it and pre-determine the draw. Only problem with that is history shows that at some point a dissafected member of the organisation will eventually blow the gaff.

look the best policy is if you think the game is crooked well i have a simple answer don't play it then! of course it's there game there let who they want to win win ...just like the monoply game that mcdonald's had back in the 90's where the accounting firm they had over seeing the game where the guy had the one piece you would need to win well this clown was giving that piece to who ever he felt like giving it to and was getting a kick back so yeah im sure these lottery games probably have someone pulling the strings...but i wouldn't complain i just wouldn't give them my hard earned money either...

A lot of interesting theories here. Anyone actually prove the bias(?) of the lottery games using probability & stats. In a fair system there should be relatively small variance/standard deviation from the avg, weak correlation coefficients, etc. Who has done this thoroughly, and who can prove it???????
To prove any fix would be almost impossible, unless an undercover investigation were to occur. However, most every drawing is highly suspect. If you look at New York's Take5 game, look at the previous drawings and you will see patterns that are suspicious. Anyone with knowledge of mathemetical and statistical odds would be astounded!. There is little doubt in my mind that all lottery games, everywhere are rigged in some fashion. So, who is winning?. A very interesting question. What if a small group of people had before-hand knowledge of what the winning numbers in a lottery would be?.

The New York Lottery is fixed. Just look at the numbers that are drawn, especially in the Take 5 game. Consistently number groups are not being drawn. One night it might be no single digits, then the next night no 30's or 20's. But the clincher is the sequence of numbers, case in point last night's drawing (March 21, 2011): 24-25-26-28-9 while not impossible, any mathematician or odds maker will tell you highly improbable and some sort of rigging may be in place. There is no doubt in my mind that New York State lottery official(s), are manipulating these drawings. The Federal government should and must get involved and do an undercover investigation, people are being ripped-off, and no, I am not a sore loser, I think I can speak for all NY lottery players that all we want is a fair and honest chance. Unless the Feds get involved, things will continue as they are, sad that we live in the most corrupt city on earth.

For any of us lottery players it is impossible for us to prove bias or some sort of fix without us being present at the drawings and even then it would be difficult. Only an expert could uncover that. We need Federal involvement.

Simple resolution, but that is only turning a blind eye to a presumed crooked operation. Anyone that thinks the lotteries are fixed and stops playing them, well that's ok for them, but others will continue to pursue a dream that has no chance of ever coming true and will continue to rip them off. You cannot bury your head in the sand, if the games are truly crooked as I believe them to be, then the Federal government must investigate.

Times are very tough right now in the USA, none more than in New York City. Money, and the lack of it, prompts an already crooked political system in NYC to go to any lengths to get money, lie, cheat, steal, you name it, and they will do it!. The city's biggest money maker is the lotteries. Supposedly proceeds go to education, that's a big fat lie!. If that were true, then why is the city laying off thousands of teachers?. If the state of NY were to run honest lottery games there would be little money to line officials pockets, that's why the lotteries are fixed, just like gambling in a casino, the odds always favor the house, never the player.

I am quite sure that the NC lottery is a scam. Here is my idea:Even though at a certain time of night, usually 11:22 P.M. here, the results of "the roll" are televised,it means NOTHING!The cut-off time for public play(powerball)is 10:00 P.M.,ok? Then you have to consider that ALL player #'s have been entered within an hour period of time(10-11 P.M.).The high efficiency of computer technology today tallys the combination of #'s entered, spits out combinations that have not been used, then televises the "agent with the official results of the timely spin"!BUT,now and then SOME LUCKY PLAYER WINS!Well listen, they HAVE to let SOMEBODY win at SOME point to make it appear on the "up-and-up".At that time,a few other "lucksters" have come up with a few of "the #'s and won a little "something"! Case closed.Bye.

Hello again,in addition to my 4/21/2011 comments,NC is NOT using the lottery players' funds to aid the education system in NC.If NC government was honest and doing what it proposes to us,our students would not be lacking,as they are,in NEEDED funds for supporting the school system! They do not want to pay teachers, etc.fair salaries, buy our childrens' literature that they need, and on & on!The lottery was supposed to lighten the tax burden on citizens to aid or students, but NC is acting as though the financial system is BROKEN DOWN;where is all this money going? It is quite evident that our citizens are truly playing the lottery,no question there! What is the "government" doing with the proceeds,'cause ain't THAT many Jack Pot winners!Let's get on this,we have the right,we are the citizens who are getting bamboozled! Love to honorable citizens.

I totally agree we need to speak out against this farse. Ive been saying for years it needs to be done the old fashioned way. Since Christmas 2010 there has been 18 or so rollovers, thats just ridiculous........whats the odds on that. Ive used the same numbers for seven years and never missed a night and the most ive won is £42.00, and all my friends do it weekly and as of yet ive never met anyone whos had 5+ numbers. The lotto is a brilliant idea but it is because its filled with corruptness and controlled by devious greedy organisers that the normal people like you and me will never be genuine winners.

Of course it's fixed.Mass. lottery, just look at the list of past numbers .For example the Mega-smucks so called doubtler they have'nt drawn a winner in months.why you say ,they pick a big money game to be the cash builder for a time to fatten their account for smaller pay outs and of course their paychecks.o.k try this one on for size,a guy i know played the same number every day, every day,50 cent slips 30 of them for the obvious reason. He did this for a year without fail.so one day his daughter has an accident,to the hospital he goes ,guess what he does not do that day ,and guess what by some STRANGE twist of fate the number, that number comes out....he loses over 20,000 dollars. NOOOO the lottery is not fixed. Also if you live in the corrupt state of Mass.look at the past winners list for any large amount of winnings, all the people are from way outside of the 128 area why i don't know ,but it is constant.

It's fixed .Keno for example, the number is picked 1 month in advance. Actually all the numbers for that day are picked one month in advance.Reason you say , so the computer can have time ,not much time, to kick out any high paying hits .Searching for the low winning combinations.Just look at the Mega schmucks last winners, there are none. Why ,simple the lottery uses a not so popular game to be the cash cow and build up bank. Also look at the constant winner location of Ass cash.....all outside 495. Again the main reason you will NEVER see a casino in Ma.Is because there are already here 160,000 of them. Convenient stores, no staff.no maintenance ,just pick up the Sap cash and see ya!

All lotteries are "rigged. That's why it's a big business. Computers are programed to rip off every player. Just look what our "Congress has been doing to us all for years, and that includes our "president. Don't play the lottery ! Save your money ! By doing that, that mkes you a "winner !

Of course it is fixed.Just look at the game called Megabucks Doubtler or as we call it the Megaschmucks doubtler no one hits it at all. When it was just megabucks every week someone would win.Now it's a new game --no one can tag it....The Lottery needs a game no one can win to help pay for the tickets that do pay.. sort of like a hedge fund for potential winners. Keno is for people who are very stupid in math .the Lottery loves these "edjits".People just do not understand Money will always go to Money----Always!!!!!!!The gamblers who can afford to lose will win....The rest of you are just pissing against a high wind...And wetting yourselves...
