Based on other recent Markell "initiatives" like the Bloom energy plan and the Fisker fiasco a thorough review done by our elected representatives would be prudent. Of course we all want clean water but we also want assurance that the funding will be used specifically for the intended purpose. When our state government is basically a one party system and our main newspaper seems to be part of the mainstream liberal media we lack an effective system of checks and balances.
When the "new" version of the News Journal appeared on Sunday, I thought that we were finally going to have a newspaper that provided factual uncensored and unbiased news. Today (Friday Mar 7) while reading the editorial slamming Senator Coons for his vote against Mr. Adegbile those hopes were flushed down the hopper. The senator's vote showed courage by voting against further deterioration in our Justice department. Attorney General Eric Holder has been "reluctant" to allow investigations of White House scandals like Fast & Furious, Benghazi, the IRS and others to proceed.
Censorship by omission seems to be the standard practice of the liberal media and in Friday's editorial the News Journal claims that Mr Adegbile participated only in the actual defense of the notorious cop killer and none of the demonstrations that were frequently held. That is blatantly false. So by slamming Senator Coons apparently the News Journal favors the foot dragging by the Justice Dept that will delay the investigations of the scandals which will prevent the actual exposure of corruption. Facts being withheld prevent the public from being informed of the actions done or not done by public officials who would be negatively impacted on election day 2014 and 2016.
Maybe if the public had access to full unbiased information we wouldn't have the Obamacare farce restricting jobs and holding back the economy not to mention the additional negative aspects like uncertainty of actual health care. Remember, if you like your health care plan and your doctor you can keep both and your health care costs will be reduced by $2,500 annually.......
