Stop laughing, this is the start of the letter:

"In a recent editorial, "Tell us again why these guys earn the big bucks," the editors blame Newt Gingrich for the lack of oversight of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac -- the former Speaker has struggled to explain why he took $1.6 million in fees from Freddie Mac while presenting himself as its sworn enemy. But the editors also claim that Congressman Barney Frank "always supported [Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac's] cause." This is a popular talking point on Fox News and talk radio but to believe it requires complete ignorance of the basic facts."

I have to go out but I hope to see some real facts here later.

@PNGreen, "This is a popular talking point on Fox News and talk radio but to believe it requires complete ignorance of the basic facts." You are not even barking up the wrong tree. You don't even see a tree.

Well, they are the basic facts. Newtron da bomb (Newt Gingrich)was deeply corrupt and so were some of the Fannie/Freddie operating officers. You do remember why Newt was censored by the Congress and had to pay huge fines;don't you?Why Newt lost his House Speaker position? But;that's all besides the point. What is more important was that Fannie and Freddic Mac had little or nothing at all to do with the US banking meltdown and 2008 Great Recession. You have to go farther back to Senator Phil Graham machinations to push through repeal of Glass-Steagal , and the Gramm–Leach–Bliley Act that dismantled the FDR safeguards put in place to protect against the kind of reckless financial speculation that led to the Great Depression .

Newt Gingrich $1.6 Million Payday From Freddie Mac
I suppose there’s not a lot to be said about the fact that Newt Gingrich got paid $1.6 ... true that Fannie/Freddie are not ... Think Progress ...

On October 5, Sarkis Soghanalian, once the world’s largest private arms dealer, died at 82. He had sold weapons to scores of dictators including Saddam Hussein, and he took many secrets with him to his grave. But one secret he did not take involves Newt Gingrich when he was Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives. DCBureau has learned that Gingrich was at the center of a U.S. Justice Department criminal investigation in the late 1990s for a scheme to shake down the arms dealer for a $10 million bribe in exchange for Gingrich using his influence as Speaker to get the Iraq arms embargo lifted so Soghanalian could collect $54 million from Saddam Hussein’s regime for weapons he had delivered during the Iran-Iraq War.

Soghanalian was an FBI informant and was responsible for launching one of the most sensitive and secret investigations in FBI history involving the former Speaker and his second wife. According to Marianne Gingrich, it took the direct intervention of then FBI Director Louis J. Freeh to “get the investigation called off.” Freeh did not return emails and telephone calls for comment.

That's interesting. So is this the event Pelosi threatened to reveal illegally?

Have you ever had an original thought in your life, you partisan idiot? I really doubt it. You could care less about this country. Typical Tea Party Fascist with their own failed agenda.
Again, a post that is off topic.

Exit,
Just because you can't read two syllable words, don't blame me. Now work on that tea party fascist salute. That way you don't have to think. I know it hurts. No one appointed you the police.
