Leaving behind a year of bruising legislative battles, President Barack Obama enters his fourth year in office having calculated that he no longer needs Congress to promote his agenda and may even benefit in his re-election campaign if lawmakers take little action in 2012.

http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2011/dec/...

Since he has no major policy issue to present, can't talk about his record and has no vision for the future, he seems to have taken the "Obama Way Out" and is voting "Present" once again. His sole goal for 2012 is to raise money, criss cross the country on our dime, and get reelected. He even watered down the Iran policy and postponed any real action until June. Just like he tried to do with the new pipeline and tens of thousands of jobs. Voting "Present" seems to be what he does best. Do we deserve 4 more years of this?

@Ballybunion,"is voting "Present" once again. " You got that backwards. The minority Tea Party Republicans would rather see the government break down and everyone suffer rather than be outvoted and defeated . We all know the violent, irresponsible way the Tea Party reacted to being defeated on the Affordable Healthcare Act ;they spat on Congressional Black Caucus members, sabotaged the homes of Congress members who voted for Affordable Healthcare, harassed them with insults, jeers, phone threats and stalking. The tea party republicans ,headed by incompetent John Boehner got their comeuppance when even RINO veteran Mitch McConnell had to demand that they stop blocking President Obama's payroll tax cut for working middle class Americans. How could the tea party, elected on a tax reform and decentralized government platform ever justify voting against a tax cut to ordinary Americans ,but praise extended tax cuts(over 10 years now) to the wealthiest 1% of Americans? The new tea party wants us all(the 99% to be the new Serf class to the 1% wealthiest class. OWS was right on in their understanding of the un-American, radical Tea Party who want a redistribution of all wealth and power to the 1%.

Obama is done, a lame duck already. Rule by fiat does not fly in this country, socialism is not what Americans want, and he is a weak president on every facet, he is not a leader, and he is in WAY over his head. He has absolutely nothing constructive that he has accomplished, in fact, he has set us back 20 years. I can't wait to see the garbage his campaign puts out, this will be a real show of ignorance.

Exit, it will be the same old talking points we are hearing from Debbie Wasserman-Schultz. EVERYTHING the republicans have done = BAD, hate the poor, want people to die, love the rich, Wall St., millionaires, etc. No matter O is the largest receipient of Wall St. and Millionaire's money. Just one lie after the other. Fortunately only a small minority will inhale the Bull and run with it, well a minority and the mainstream media. The uneducated will lap it up because it will be their crutch as to why they aren't better off. It's all those nasty hard working rich stealing all the money and opportunity in the US. I remember learning about an charming leader blaming all the woes on the Jewish Bankers and we all know what happened then. What's the difference now, other than no religion is attributed to the supposed stealers? The one point that the Dems. just don't get with their talking points that the R's don't like any of those running that well, is that they like most of them quite fine and are trying, in their own minds, to pick the best to defeat O! Contrary to their talking points, ALL will get behind the one chosen to run, O gone is more important than the "Perfect" conservative candidate. That and the fact that we will OWN congress!

Do you have a problem when Repubs do it on our "dime" you hypocrite? No, he sees people who can't and won't compromise, mainly because they are fascists. He has plenty of vision, just not the one you like. That is a good thing. Such propaganda. Are you sure you didn't help out Hitler with "Mein Kampf"? What out and out lies. All of this is merely your opinion, not fact as you try to present it.
Get ready, with the miserable lineup the Repubs have, it's four more years, baby! Have fun with that.
Also the link? The Washington Times, LOL. Please post a reputable paper, not one I wouldn't line a bird cage with. What a fascist rag!!

@exitde, "Obama is toast and he knows it, he has failed." Not compared with this Republican line-up of candidates, flip-flopper Obamacare candidate(Romney); Fannie&Freddie paid flunky and adulterer (Newt 'family values don't apply to me' Gingrich); adulterer and lecher (Cain); anti-Israel, possibly racist anti-war (Ron Paul--ironically also most honest and socially appealing small conservative); gay bashing, Muslim -hating , war monger (Santorum), Sarah Palin mimic and airhead (Michelle Bachman), Sarah Palin mimic and airhead(Donald Trump)

You want to tell us how you really feel? The topic is about Obama going around Congress. He can, and he is doing with the knowlege he is finished. It's all in vain, he will be voted out, all his rule by fiat will be thrown out and his socialist obamacare, the Dodd-Frank abortion will be repealed and that's it, end of story.

@exitde, "The topic is about Obama going around Congress." Sorry, clueless , try again and this time you and ballybunion make an effort to actually read a sentence without falling asleep. The topic is that President Obama will press ahead with trying to make government work for the people (as it was intended by the founders) despite Republican attempts to force a breakdown or concession to their petty tyranny demands that only help their narrow, moneyed-interest corporate cronies over the public interest. Affordable Healthcare will be implemented and big health providers and insurers will be obligated to fulfill 80% of health coverage promised to their patient-consumers without passing the costs off to them. We'll have a fairer ,more just and less wasteful healthcare system over the Tea Party dead body. We'll also have a Consumer Finance Protection Bureau with Richard Cordray as it's head no matter how much John Boehner and Mitch McConnell are paid by the Too Big Too Fail Banks and Mortgage Lenders that the CFPB is "dangerous" The Consumer Finance Protection Bureau is "dangerous " to greedy, corrupt, money-gouging banks and mortgage lenders who try and rip off ordinary Americans with fraudulent loans and usurious rates. The CFPB will have death panels for corrupt banks and lending institutions!

325 votes total? I hardly call that a cross section of Delaware. Obama is going to have a rude awakening in November when a landslide victory goes to who ever is running against him.

The far left continue to drink the KoolAde, fine, the sane among us know the truth and running on lies and inuendo and envy will only garner the hard left votes. The common man, being turned totally off by the class envy, will look and see just what we have gotten from Mr. Vote Present and will vote for anyone but Obama. It may be close, I have no illusions about the general intelligence of the left, most blindly believe all the DNC talking points, like the $40 A WEEK cut in taxes they are trying to spread around. Like the R's didn't want to extend the tax holiday, LIE, D's wanted 2 MONTHS and the R's wanted an ENTIRE YEAR! Yeah, nasty R's wanting to give a year break vs. a two month break. D's just want the media to cover the supposed fight. O/B may be a shoo in Delawaredumb, but not the other states.
LOL - keep up the fairy tale though, it is so amusing to see you all lie to yourselves too.

I hope you are not too disappointed when none of that happens. You have a better chance of hitting the powerball than anything like what you suggested happening. Barry Soetero and Joe are done, this experiment with socialism is finished.

@exitde," I hope you are not too disappointed when none of that happens. " I'm more concerned about what the Tea Party will do when they realize how huge they will lose in 2012, even possibly the end of the Republican Party as we've known it. The Tea Party have shown their violent tendencies when they have lost as when the Affordable Healthcare Act passed. Nothing excuses the deplorable Tea Party actions to spit on Black Caucus members, sabotage, insults and obscenities , and phone harassment and stalking of members of Congress who voted for the Affordable Healthcare Act. What will the Tea Party do when Congress overthrows Citizens United?

Huh? Is the sock puppet living in an alternative universe? What violence? What spitting? Whaat phone harassment and stalking? Got ANY proof or just spouting the usual nonsense? None of what the sock puppet said is true. Let's instead talk about ALL THE SQUATTERS ARRESTED! Post any legit. proof of ANY wrong doing, any arrest of any tea party member. LOL - can't be done, even the black caucus couldn't come up with even dubious proof of any racial incident, not one. Surely if any "spitting" calling of racial names etc. HAD happened all the TV cameras, cell phone recorders and videos would have been able to provide ONE TINY SHRED of proof that anything happened. A very large donaation to the NAACP or Black Colleges was on the line and YET NOT ONE BIT OF PROOF WAS PRESENTED. Why? Because there is none, just a lot of lies from some with an agenda. For shame.

Huh? You really need to back all that crap up with facts. I'm not a member of the Tea Party, but please post ONE violent thing they are associated with. Post a verifiable link, go ahead, let's see it, you can do it, we all want to know too. FACTS, not your ranting, just the facts, we will wait. Unlike the ows leaches and communists and anarchists, who have accumulated a list that would make Stalin proud, please post your facts. By the way, the topic is about zero making illegal appointments, which he may be sued for now. Affordable healthcare???? HA!!! Those two words don't belong in the same sentence when refering to obamacare, which by the way will be repealed in 2013.

Going around Congress, his "we can't wait" slogan of the month, Obama's socialist slanted objectives, ideas, growing government, spending out of control, job killing regulations, obamacare, all those things are catching up with him, not to mention the world apology tour he went on, foreign policy failure, Holder with Fast and Furious, voter fraud, the list is very long. Not that he is a bad person, but his ideology, it isn't working. This class warfare thing with the 99% is another thing. He cannot pit the American people against each other, and he won't be successful doing it. Sure he has some radicals taking the bait, but overall this whole thing is backfiring too, taking from the successful to give to people as "entitlements" through government programs? Soundly rejected by the people. Look at Greece, Spain, England, to name a few, that simply does not work. Next time around the people will elect a leader, not a slogan, you will see.
