Hmmmm. They withdrew the application for a grant right before the hearing was to be held to look into their eligibility... though they may decide to come back later and ask for the money again. No doubt they will try a new angle to get into our wallets.

Purzycki now says that maybe they're not eligible but if he was the sole official supporter of this and he is the head of the Riverfront Development Agency, is he ignorant of the rules or did he decide to flaunt the rules to support this boondoggle?

There needs to be an investigation and Purzycki and his bogus agency should be terminated!! How many millions and millions are they gonna be allowed to waste????

TNJ Quote:{BPG and the riverfront corporation applied Dec. 1 for a piece of a new $55 million pot created this year to provide economic assistance for roads, utilities and related infrastructure that would create new jobs.)

Well here ya go! What are we building and why? Are we building because we need this place, or are we building to spend money to "create" jobs. There are no jobs building that building because there is no need for it. If it was worth building, there would be "demand", if there is no demand you don't backfill no demand with tax payer money to build for the sake of building. People wonder why Delaware is the logistical patchwork nightmare that it is, empty buildings scattered through the state and scared land left in the wake of overbuilding and poor planning. More tax payer money ready to be flushed down the toilet. One more thing, the obamanomics plan of building infrastructure to create jobs does just the opposite. Infrastructure is a liability to a state, it's an expense forever to maintain. Unless it is absolutely warranted, don't do it. Those jobs it creates? they are gone when it is complete and the state or city is saddled with the maintenance cost with tax dollars, even more strain on the system.

@exitde, "Infrastructure is a liability to a state, it's an expense forever to maintain. " Now you sound like PNGreen's 'Luddite' ;not President Obama. What you are saying is that the state has no business in maintaining interstate highways, roads, bridges, rail-road track, bus and train routes and terminals , dams and reservoirs, electric power stations, docks and shipping ports, public schools , libraries, and government buildings; in effect, none of the things that all of us benefit from being a citizen of american society. How un-american can you be?

Ummmm... we don't have the money to maintain the existing infrastructure which is in desperate need of attention and yet, the reprehensible self-serving pol/crony money wasting on UNNEEDED and ECONOMICALLY RIDICULOUS new boondoggle projects continues to add to our current AND future tax burdens by creating ADDITIONAL infrastructure that will not only not pay for itself but will add to the massive drain on resources on an ongoing basis.

Get it now? Shheeesh!

@exitde, "A side from the out of context quote, I didn't say any of that, at all. Reading comprehension......... it works. " Maybe, good advice that You ought to take more often for your own sake, for example when trying to understand one of President Obama's speeches or policies.
