make naxolone available at the chemists. sure it can be got through dealers but whose going to spend out on that if they're short on cash. so why not? those keeping it criminal are just doing it so more people die from ods then they can keep going on about how bad drugs are. another thing, they wouldn't be so bad if they were regulated, they could be cut with safer substances and their strength would be more or less know. legalise it, then this can happen and less people will die

Terrible idea. Best thing you can do for these heroin users is to let them kill themselves off.

oh Topix and its red letter warnings won't let me reply fully to your post.

Here's the censored version...
when someone you care, someone you know and like, a relative, a work colleague, any of those, gets involved in drugs then come back here and say that one again. Chances are it won't but that's just chance not because you and your family or friends are a superior exempt people. Do you imagine anyone doing it themselves, or knowing someone who is, for the first time, or any time come to that, thinks they'll get addicted, thinks they'll get to the point of accidental od'ing.... I'll answer it for you..... no. If you saw someone in a personal crisis, other than drugs, would you really refuse them help? would you? if your answer is yes, I'd reckon it's no though, then you're either a psychopath or a sociopath

My circle of friends and family aren't lowlifes that inject themselves to get high, so I don't give a rat's ass about anyone who would.

There are good, decent people out there dying everyday from circumstances beyond their control. I'd like to focus my efforts on helping those people, not trying up save some scab who voluntarily sticks himself with needles for pleasure. Every heroin user I've ever been aware of is a leach on society when he/she isn't injecting themselves with poison.

Like this Hollywood puke who they found dead with a needle in his arm last month. Who cares?

We've got our boys overseas getting killed by towelheads everyday just so dopers like this have the freedom to be a parasite and buy drugs from the black guy on the corner. The media treated this Hollywood slime like he was some kind of hero. Where's the praise for our military men who get their rush from killing our enemies as opposed to sticking their arms with needles?

"my circle of friends and family... wah wah wah,..." now how did I know you were going to come back with that sanctimonious holier than thou spiel

There's getting high for pleasure for the sake of it, just as with sex or alcohol or even fine dining.... those people can become addicts but usually (course not always) get out before they do. Then there's those who have problems of whatever kind and they get addicted. unless you've been there you don't know the desperation of it. Course plenty of people don't use they go to councelling to their doctors to their deaths off a bridge. Not everyone has a perfect family or upbringing or ends up all happy and well adjusted with the perfect friend circle. And as for those who have it good and get addicted do you think they ever seriously thought it would get past them.
I've known and know plenty of herion users and they're not all leaches on society by no means, and they're not all dealers or robbers either

Besides which, it's no skin off your nose or anyone else's to have drugs like naloxone available to buy without it being illegal, it's not one of the overly expenses meds anyway. I'm not saying you're wrong, because you're right, to focus attention on other people in need more than users, but still, why would you want anyone who you don't know even to die from an overdose? leaving behind people to grieve for them. oh and, some of those who could be saved might just go on and get help and actually get and stay clean oneday..... you could even meet them and you wouldn't know unless they told you... just as you could know users now (functioning addicts, they do exist) without knowing it

Because these pukes are keeping the black, gang banging drug dealers in business. Not to mention that many of these useless addicts commit crimes to obtain funds in order to continue to fuel their addiction.

Less addicts=less dealers, so let em die.

That piece of human crap, Eric Holder would do best to shut his liberal mouth, as he has done nothing for this country except try and destroy it.

It's not just customers keeping them in business it's the law. Legalise it and take the power and monopoly out of the drug gangs hands. And, legalise it would make it affordable to buy drugs as their prices wouldn't be hyped up as they are now, and so crimes would go down. No they wouldn't stop altogether, there is always a criminal element drugs or no drugs who steal for what they want, but it would reduce the necessity of having to supplement whatever income to be able to buy high priced drugs. The drugs themselves aren't usually expensive to produce, it's the fact that they are illegal which makes them so.
Legalising is the only real long term solution, addicts die and get replaced by others, just as a drug becomes less available there's always something else. People want drugs, if it's coffee or if it's smack. Caveman was probably chewing on some leaves just to get a buzz

Ah yes, I can picture it now. A family in the park with little Johnny flying a kite with dad, little Susie on the swings with mom. Oh, and lets not leave out the couple of guys at the picnic table shooting up, the kid with a needle stuck in his bare foot from leaving their used needles on the grass. And the guy next to the slide who just went into cardiac arrest from and OD, dead and lying in a pile of vomit. Ah yes, that sounds like heaven indeed!

sounds like last summer

obviously there would need to be regulations, I'm not proposing a free for all do whatever you want. Just as there is now with alcohol... don't know about US laws but in the UK there are certain public town areas where alcohol is not allowed either at all or between certain hours.
same could be applied. besides, can't see most wanting to shoot up in public let alone infront of kids, I know I wouldn't
