Washington- After being postponed last weekend citing arena problems due to leaking roof, Old Dominion finally took on the top ranked Harvard Crimson last night at the Verizon Center in D.C.
The Crimson went into this match once again will Senior Top Ranked wrestler David Campbell absent citing illness. The Crimson dominated the entire match and lost only 2 of the 12 matches on the card, winning 46-9. Big performances from Dallas Herbst, Devin Visconti, Kyle Adams, Pete Richards, and Kendall Grove. A special performance was turned in by Herbst who payed tribute to his absent teammate by donning his signature U gesture after a :48 Pin Victory over ODU's Gonzaga. When asked about Campbell after the match Head Coach Jay Weiss said " It's tough not having him here for this amount of time but I'm absolutely certain he will be competing next weekend against Nebraska." Herbst said after the match " It's definitely different without him here he represents the soul of this team and that win was for him." The Crimson go into next saturday's match against 7th Ranked Nebraska 15-0, ODU falls to 12-3 as they head into a match with Virginia Tech next friday night.
