They have barked up the wrong tree. In a 1989 list of UN suborganisations I found four in Vienna which monitor drug issues and legislation in every country. I only checked out current existence for one. Still exists. They are all part of the UN Health Organisation.

If anybody wanted change, appealing to national governments or the White House is a futile exercise. Even President Carter had a pro campaign and had to abandon the idea as soon as he got into power.

If change is what you're aiming for, you need to work in the power structures that exist. Only a directive to the World Health Organisation can effect change, in my view. Nobody has ever tried to initiate a debate and vote in the UN Assembly, but that is probably where you have to start, or find out who is eligible to issue a directive, or an order if you like, to the UN Health Organisation.
Kofi Annan should have known that when he became part of a legalisation group. Maybe he was/is a mole.

Another reason I will not be voting for obama this election. He is as bad as any rethug on this issue and his administration has displayed astounding ignorance on this issue! Cannabis should be legal for adults and no one should go to jail for any cannabis related 'offenses.' When will the US adopt a sane drug policy?

Pot for PTSD is not needed. An army colonel has already discovered THE answer to reducing suicides and potentially even curing PTSD.
The proof of this is at Col. Monaco's website of where readers can find out from the colonel what it is and how it works so amazingly well.
It is totally FREE to receive a copy of or to download right from the site. We could heal this nation, not just our armed forces if we only could get word out to all about this absolutely free gift. One doesn't even have to order a copy but can privately use it from the sister-site of anytime, and always.
The Endorsementes of this granted gift are huge. I and my wife both use it, too. It's the single-most calming and energizing thing I do besides working out.
