This is very interesting and I wish Snyper was still here so I could bring this up with him. He often scolded me whenever I brought up Titus 3

Titus 3
Common English Bible (CEB)
3 1 Remind them to submit to rulers and authorities. They should be obedient and ready to do every good thing. 2 They shouldn’t speak disrespectfully about anyone, but they should be peaceful, kind, and show complete courtesy toward everyone. 3 We were once foolish, disobedient, deceived, and slaves to our desires and various pleasures too. We were spending our lives in evil behavior and jealousy. We were disgusting, and we hated other people. 4 But “when God our savior’s kindness and love appeared, 5 he saved us because of his mercy, not because of righteous things we had done. He did it through the washing of new birth and the renewing by the Holy Spirit, 6 which God poured out upon us generously through Jesus Christ our savior. 7 So, since we have been made righteous by his grace, we can inherit the hope for eternal life.” 8 This saying is reliable. And I want you to insist on these things, so that those who have come to believe in God might give careful attention to doing good. These things are good and useful for everyone.

I've included the site I quoted because it also has many other versions available. If you want to see an interesting thing about Bible Translation look at the variations of this passage, particularly verse 8.

Well, obviously the rule about always obeying the rulers and authorities (governments) does not apply nowadays, and never did. Otherwise violent revolutions that threw off oppression, such as The American revolutionary War, or the revolutions of 1989 sometimes called "The Autumn Of Nations", when Communist dictatorships were overthrown in eastern European countries, would not be moral.

And I think we can all agree that our Revolutionary War, and the revolutions that overthrew the communist dictatorships in Europe were, perfectly moral even though they were violent and bloody sometimes.

So that particular rule about always obeying rulers and authorities just simply does not apply.

The Ultimate Anti-Gay Marriage Ad

and from Michigan we have:
Republicans Destroy Republican Arguments Against Gay Marriage
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2014/06/19/repu...
More than two dozen amicus briefs were filed Monday in Michigan's gay marriage case, now in front of the 6th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals after a federal judge struck down the state ban in March. In one of the briefs, 14 former Michigan Republican legislators and others in the party affirmed that conservative "values are advanced by recognizing civil marriage rights for same-sex couples," rather than harmed.
"Marriage is strengthened and its benefits, importance to society, and the social stability of the family unit are promoted by providing access to civil marriage for same-sex couples," they argue. "Providing access to civil marriage for same-sex couples poses no credible threat to religious freedom or to the institution of religious marriage."
The brief's undersigned, who include former speaker of the Michigan House Rick Johnson, former majority floor leader of the state House Christopher Ward and former U.S. Rep. John Schwarz, argued point by point that there are no legal or social justifications for continuing bans on same-sex marriage. They said that same-sex marriage will enhance rather than damage the institution of marriage and will have particular benefits for children of same-sex couples rather than jeopardize them.
"The choice here is between allowing same-sex couples to marry, thereby conferring on their children the benefits of marriage, and depriving those children of married parents altogether," they wrote.
They also made the point that marriage is not just about having children, but about the mutual rights and obligations conferred on partners, invoking George Washington.
"Whatever the merits of speculation that marriage was originally fashioned only to channel the procreative impulse, it has been centuries since marriage was so limited (if it ever was). Our Nation’s first President and his wife had no children together, but their marriage provided a protective family structure for raising Martha Washington’s children by her first marriage as well as her grandchildren."

Not mentioned in the article is that the assembly also voted to alter the definition of marriage, replacing "one man and one woman" with "commitment between two people." The resolution needs to be ratified by a majority of the presbyteries to take effect.

Things can change. I recall you insisting that no State would ever approve SSM via a popular vote.

Maybe you need to replace your crystal ball.

Evangelicals are more likely to be divorced than the average American—even Americans who claim no religion.

Tell us again about how much they support the sanctity of marriage, not to mention keeping their own wedding vows.

You still haven't explained why you want to deny the children of SSC's the same legal protections enjoyed by children of all other married couples.

"The choice here is between allowing same-sex couples to marry, thereby conferring on their children the benefits of marriage, and depriving those children of married parents altogether,"

Why are you anti-family?
