President Obama's Approval Rating Falls 11 Percent in 2010

Feb 23, 2011 | Posted by: roboblogger | Full story: KVOR-AM Colorado Springs

In a year marked by slow economic recovery and a highly contentious debate over the new health care law, 47 percent of Americans, on average, approved of the job President Obama was doing, according to data released Wednesday by the Gallup Organization.

The Republican Betrayal of the Elderly Begins

Perhaps more than any other factor, the overwhelming Republican midterm triumph was fueled by the elderly.

Voters 65 and over, the only age group to support John McCain in 2008, boosted their share of the turnout to 21% from 16% two years earlier. Nationwide, Republicans won seniors by a staggering 59% to 38%.

But now, their reward is a slap in the face. After all, from trying to repeal health care reform and threatening to shutdown the government to proposals to privatize Social Security and Medicare, the new GOP majority is betraying the elderly Americans who put them in power.

American MONSTERS:

"They're the bankers who've extorted trillions of public treasure, blowing up the deficit while awarding themselves inconceivably fat bonuses.

They're the billionaires who've benefited from a massive transfer of wealth from the middle to the top, and whose political puppets protect them from paying their fair share of taxes.

They're the corporations whose cash has convinced Congress to deregulate industry after industry, despite all evidence that it is the enforcement of rules -- not the magic of the marketplace -- that protects the public's rights.

They're the defense contractors and pork appropriators who've used the cover of "national security" to shield the Pentagon's budget and its procurement process from the cuts and reforms that even Republicans like the Secretary of Defense are advocating.

They're the front groups and propagandists, like FreedomWorks and Fox, who use class warfare and culture wars in order to turn Americans against their own economic interests.

They're the Supreme Court justices whose Citizens United decision, overthrowing a century of settled law, has made our campaign finance system an open sewer, and whose indifference to conflicts of interest in a coming case promises to throw sick people back onto the tender mercies of insurers and to destroy our best hope to curb Medicare costs - further ballooning the deficit and providing cover for even more draconian cuts."

"Things got worse for Reagan in 1982. The public's view of the economy remained sour, and the president's ratings during 1982 stayed concomitantly low, in the 40% range, ending the year at 41%.

The 1982 midterm elections were not good ones for Reagan and for the GOP. The Republicans lost about 25 seats in the House.

A clear cause for all of this was the economy."

The democrats just lost 64 seats in the house and 7 seats in the senate. The clear cause was......the economy and most Americans finding out the truth about the cause. Turn out the lights, the party's over!

"For now, although oil stocks are declining with increased consumption,“there is still plenty of spare production capacity, especially in OPEC countries,” Mr. Tanaka said.

Robert B. Zoellick, president of the World Bank, speaking on Saturday at a Group of 20 meeting, said that the Saudis in particular had indicated that they had significant spare capacity, which may help to keep markets calm."

Rightwing biased MSM blocks out half the story:

Amanda Terkel from the Huffington Post reports that the TV talk shows are showing little interest in bringing on union officials:

A union official told The Huffington Post that when none of the Sunday shows' producers reached out to them to book a labor representative this week, several unions started to pitch the shows with affected workers and local and national leaders who they felt could discuss the protests. The official said the response from the shows was essentially "thanks, but no thanks."

"If you're a Sunday show and there are labor fights going on for two weeks, if you can just book ... Chris Christie, why would you actually go out and get somebody who is actually involved in this? That would be work!" snarked the official, adding, "Everybody's been pushing, and everybody's been shut down."

Republiscum and TeaParasites Attack Women

"Poor Women Pay the Price in the Right’s War on Women’s Health

On Friday, February 18, the U.S. House of Representatives dealt a crushing blow to the health and well-being of millions of women across America: in a 240-185 vote, the the House approved H.R. 1 -- also known the Pence Amendment -- which would prohibit Planned Parenthood from receiving federal funding for any purpose, including providing basic preventive health care to women and families. Consider it a slap in the face to women in general, especially to low-income women who have nowhere else to turn for their primary health care.

At present, Planned Parenthood provides nearly four million tests and treatments for sexually transmitted infections, 830,000 breast exams, more than a million Pap tests, and helps prevent more than 612,000 unintended pregnancies each year.

Annually, three million women and men in the United States visit Planned Parenthood affiliate health centers for trusted health care services and information; for some of those clients, largely those that are low-income, the nurses and doctors at Planned Parenthood are the only health care providers they ever see."

History is repeating itself. Obama is Jimmy Carter Part Two. Things will only get worse and worse until we are saved by a real President and not one who sees himself as a citizen of the World and United Nations.
