This is just another unfunded Federally mandated program to states that can't afford them.

This has unfortunately become a political football.
It involves money.
One party supports it. One party wants the money put in another set of favorites.
Who will win out?

The number of people on medicaid would not be so many if women did not get it just for breeding.Make a limit. If a woman has more than two, then they will not recieve medicaid. This will slow the medicad numbers down. Most women will lllllllllearn what birth control is if they arent given medicaid and other free programs.

This is the way we increase dependancy on the government, in turn, creating an underclass that must be cared for from cradle to grave. Is this good for America? Or, bad for America?

Wrong. Mediciad is a shared Federal/ State program. Usually 60% paid by Fed and 40% paid by the State. It was changed to 70%/30% because they are using Stimulis money to help the states.(so much for job "creation")

Very well said. And, yes, there will be bloggers who will say this is hurtful, etc. Well, sometimes the truth hurts! We need to stop giving free meal tickets to all the baby momma's and lazy trailer trash period! We have people right now who cannot find jobs. Hard working people who no matter how hard they try cannot find a replacement position nearly close to the one they lost. They are not sitting back like the women living next door to me saying...it's more beneficial for me to not work...I get it all then! And this is the mentality. Oh yea, by the way, she's also right now getting a free ride on a college education with our working tax payers dollars - how nice for her! I had to pay for my ducation and work while aquiring it. The system has to change. We need to cut-off lazy people who refuse to work! Life is not is not easy - get over it! And stop thinking that you're entitled to a free ride.

Gopers actually think most unemployed people who lost their jobs to republican trade policy are lazy, lol. "they just would rather live on unemployment and food stamp pittens while they lose everything they ever had rather than work". Thats what oxy popin' rush and the rest of the facists say.

It is a sorry state of affairs... Being on welfare use to be a sign of failure and personal inadequacy.
The notion of personal responsibility is loosing out to the nanny state...an untenable situation.

The majority of Medicaid spending is on nursing home care for the elderly and disabled not for poor children. Poor children and their parents are just easier to blame.

Incorrect. Medicaid is free health insurance for those with very low income and pays for alot of health related and community based services for the disabled and poor children and their parents. Other governmental programs pay for "cash" and housing assistance.

Medicare pays for the elderly with low incomes. Most disable do not live in nursing homes.

If you want to know some facts about Medicaid instead of just making stuff up or repeating incorrect information like an idiot, you may want to check out a publication from the Health Policy Institute of Ohio:

If a woman on welfare has a child, they should tie her tubes before discharging her from the hospital. Living off of the government has got to stop.

Wrong. The latest figures I saw have the federal government providing 518.6 million and the state providing 243.8 million. That means the state provided 47% of the funds. The stimulus money won't last forever and when it runs out, the state is stuck with the whole bill. What the "H" is "mediciad"?

Ohio's leaders are leaving for a better business and weather climate leaving behind those who apparently need welfare to survive. So who is left to pay the bill?

ok here is my ideal (fair way) of a fix to the problem of medicaid and welfare.(the ones using the system, expecting the tax payers to hand out a check, along with free housing, day care, cell phones, and trade school) to the able body young people (young unmarried pregnant women or the ones with babies living off the system not knowing who or where the baby daddy is).

here is the deal: "you have got five years to improve your life, after that, your off the system" your check will be cut. if you drop your underwear and get pregnant again, its not the governments problem anymore, and the tax payers will not feel sorry for you and hand you a check and an insurance card, just because your pregnant. so after 5 years , before you drop your underwear with that love feeling, make sure who ever you have sex with has a job that will support you and your 5 babies, make sure he (future baby daddy having sex with you) has already ask you to marry him, make sure he has a job, make sure you have a job, make sure he has shown a commitment to help support you and your other 4 children by other men on the run. the tax payers no longer want to support you and your children after the first 5 years of you being on the system.

good point. but the christians and all the good church going people (national pro life groups) wants her to keep having babies. they are against abortion and tube ties. maybe we should just let them pick up the tab instead of the tax payers. good ideal? when the church pass around an offering plate, let them take some of that money to feed and support the woman currently on welfare. she could be taken off the system, that money could go to the poor elderly, the ones who really need it.
