True. But one of the school shooting massacres in this country's history was at an Amish schoolhouse. 10 girls, ages 6-13 were shot, 5 girls died. The Amish do not use guns at all and they do not tolerate violence.

I lived and worked with Amish in Northern Indiana, and almost every farm has a shotgun somewhere......don't know where you heard that?

The Amish who migrated to states like Indiana & Ohio and to Canada did so to escape the strict traditional practices & plain beliefs held true by the Amish & Mennonites in Pennsylvania. Otherwise known as the Pennsylvania Dutch, these people do not allow any secular ("English") influences, devices or modern conveniences, including automobiles, plumbing and guns. I lived and went to college right outside of Philadelphia, Pa. in Lancaster County, the oldest and largest Amish community in the country. This is where the Amish, Mennonite and Brethren (Anabaptists) settled in America after fleeing religious persecution in Europe in the 1700's. I still own a small home in Lancaster for vacations and holidays. The Amish are as simple and deep a people as anyone could meet. They are honest, fair, kind and caring and my Amish neighbors are some of my oldest and dearest friends.

We only need to ask one simple question to determine “what could have set the teenage gunman off.” That question is: What psychiatric drug was he taking or withdrawing from? Sometimes simple questions are the hardest to ask. That question would be hard for the media to ask, because after reporting the event, taking station breaks for advertisements for antidepressants and sedatives might give big media editors and producers indigestion, since their very existence depends on Big Pharma sponsorship. That question would be hard for some politicians to ask because it might jeopardize Big Pharma campaign contributions (footnote 2). And that question might be hard for many Americans to ask because they are consuming psychiatric medications like candy.
