Conn. Senate approves sweeping gun control bill

Apr 3, 2013 Full story: KVUE.com 34

Connecticut's Senate on Wednesday approved sweeping new restrictions on weapons and large-capacity magazines, a response to last year's deadly Newtown elementary school shooting that would give the state some of the country's tightest gun control laws.

Gun control legislation in the wake of Sandy Hook is akin to banning SUV's, limiting the amount of fuel they can carry, or limiting the size of the fuel tank had Lanza blasted through a school yard playground fence and run those children and teachers down in a Range Rover.

Liberals/progressives/Democrat s are stupid; I'm surprised we've survived as a country this long.

Since we can't ban people, all we can do is try to eliminate access to their weapon of choice.

Better me than someone else.

If you can't ban people, then the only way to cut down on gun violence is to get rid of as many guns as possible.

Sorry, but that's what it's come to.

It's come to that because we have no clue what to do to stop the senseless violence that plagues our society. So the progressive left picked something, letís focus on a symptom because we don't know what to do. They know it won't work, the right knows it won't work, but hey with this administration the Constitution is more of a suggestion than the law of the land. Have you noticed in all the killings, we don't hate the shooter, we hate the tool. God forbid we look at the killer. It's not his fault, he was picked on in school, the girls didn't like him, he probably had a mean teacher, he really needs help and someone to understand him. A uniquely progressive liberal approach.

2014 midterms may see quite a few unemployed democratic politicians over this gun mess. Locally for sure.

Hey, I'd gladly support locking up every person who owns or wants to own an assault rifle in a looney bin somewhere for psychiatric treatment, but you won't support that. So the only other option is to target their weapon of choice for mass murder.

Yeah, we heard the same predictions in 2012, only then it was the economy & unemployment rate.

And the Dems STILL picked up seats in the Senate.

First, the weapon of choice for murder is the hand gun, OK to you liberals, the assault hand gun. I have to admit, it is impossible to argue with your idiotic progressive logic. Rather than blame the criminal, you would look at taking away the Constitutional rights of law abiding citizens. However, I semi-respect your right to be liberally delusional and say what you think.

That's why handguns will likely have to be banned as well as assault rifles and other semi-automatic weapons.

Since we can't ban people, the only option left is to ban their weapons of choice.

Which will lead to their weapon of 2nd choice. Take away their heroin and coke will do.

Then we go after their 2nd choice, then their 3rd, etc, etc.

It's a lot harder to conceal a rifle or a shotgun.

So, the plan is to eliminate all possible weapons. Very progressive of the liberal left.

No, the plan is to eliminate the most dangerous & lethal weapons, and hammer those who use guns in crimes or sell guns to those who use them in crimes.

So, if there are no guns, then knives would become the 'most dangerous and lethal'? At some point you'll need to register sticks & rocks. A national mandate to have all people over the age of 12 be certified sane by a health care professional makes more sense.

Nope, just guns.
