A deeper divide: The gun control debate after Newtown

Feb 24, 2013 Full story: The York Daily Record 7

It was an argument over guns. The issue was fairly simple: Should amateur shooting ranges be subject to inspection and approval by the police chief? On one side were residents concerned about noise and wary of unregulated shooting.

Very interesting article about Newtown and its shooting range.

Where I live (Illinois) there are few shooting ranges. One, nearby, costs $25.00 admission inside. When I travel to a free outdoor range, it's crowded and deliberately tied-up by off-duty police to discourage others to use the place.

I know of another outdoor range that has been harassed by State police, it costs $25.00/person also.

Imagine being a member of an expensive club and ammunition being so scarce now.

Myself, I hate noise, especially loud vehicles. Police are always coercing people with loud vehicles to drive past my house. The primary tool police use to harass their personal enemies is noise. One of my neighbors replaced a good muffler with a louder muffler on his diesel powered p/u truck. If he raced past my house, the noise from the truck would make my windows vibrate.

That's how I know (for a fact) local police deliberately antagonized Adam Lanza to get him to shoot (multiple times) small kids. It's a very easy thing for police to harass a mentally weak person until he snaps.

All shooting rampage are deliberately instigated by police. That includes Virginia Tech, Columbine, and Sandy Hook

Local police pushed Adam Lanza over the edge to get him to kill people. They did it to help justify more antigun laws. Cops are the largest most antigun group of Americans.

Ever since Obama was re-elected, the shootings have escalated. Police know he's the most antigun president we've had since Clinton. They immediately stepped up their harassment of gun owners. They know their best chance of an assault rifle ban can happen under Obama.

Chicago is now setting records for gun crime for the cold months of January and February. Usually these shootings go unsolved like at New Orleans, but strangely the CPD are catching all the shooters (because they're harassing them).

"My kid was murdered by gun, so now I want the Bill of Rights banned."

Most Americans don't have a clue why we have freedom and guns.

The Pigs would love to see civilian gun possession outlawed. As long as Obama is president, the shootings will continue. Police will continue to harass mentally weak gun owners until Obama can ban guns. Hide your kids (consider the slaughter of young people in Chicago).

Excessive gun violence is a symptom of the Govts' failed war on drugs. The war on drugs harms more people than do the drugs. School shootings are deliberately instigated by police and have little todo with the drug war.

I think it's amazing how gun owners have come together to defend our gun rights. I really thought Sandy Hook would end the 2nd amendment.

One more school shooting, especially one in Nevada (home of Senator harry Reid) and it will be easy for Obama to ban guns.

So now we have the motive for local police to instigate a shooting rampage at Newtown.

Newtown area gun owners were active in the shooting sport. Noise from almost daily shooting(in the Newtown area) was a problem for many (antigun) residents. Many of the antigun crowd wanted police to police local shooting ranges including giving police the power to shutdown an unsafe range.

In the end the gun owners who won. This compelled the police to antagonize Adam Lanza. Never forget, police are the largest most antigun group of Americans.
