I guess they cops didn't have any helium balloons.

Too bad the other second-graders didn't have guns. They could have stood in a circle and all shot him.

Maybe if these little hellions know there will be consequences for their behavior, they will straighten up.His problem are his parents and their failure to control his behavior.

Police should resort to using pepper spray only in a situation where they are unable to restrain a suspect. It shouldn't be used as on the spot punishment for an unruly 2nd grader who back talks the officers and refuses to stand still.

Back when I was in school, the teacher would have called the principal for assistance (not the police), and he would have come to classrom to restrain the kid until he calmed down (they were all men back then), and an hour later the kid would be back in his desk with a bruised bottom and an attitude readjustment.

I guess peper spraying an eight year old kid while the teachers barracde themselves in a closet is the result of 30 years of "progress".

The kid needs medication. This is no ordinary tantrum.Kids do not threaten to stab others if they
can't get their way.

What's disgusting is that my second grade teacher would have disarmed me, gave me three swats with her big old wooden paddle, before I had sense enough to know what happened.

Idiot Marxist teachers today are clueless about everything.

Further, the little bad boy LOVES the cop's being called. Other kids REALLY do fear him, just like the cowardly teachers! He's getting a great 'education.'

Finally, sounds like the 'police' wore panties.

Talk about a fine layered mess of Marxist keystoners!

why would you use pepper spray on a kid you can pick up with one hand?

Of course drug the kid, put him on meds in the morning and then send him to the DARE program in the afternoon. LOL

True story. I was putting my neighbors kid on the short bus years ago. He was a head banger, he would go to school and when he didnt get his way would bang his head against the wall, well of course the teachers would put a helmet on him and hug him and talk sweetly to him. One morning we were at the kitchen table and he didnt like what I told him to do, he started banging his head on the table. I said "you like that huh"? I grabed him by the back of his neck and slammed his head into the table about five times. Lo and behold the kid was cured of head banging. Amazing! Who would have thought?

The kid is a hazard to the teaching of students without emotional issues.
Put him to work on a farm in Mexico until old enough to join the military.
Needs time to grow up.

It's another typical overbearing police atrocity. I read the article. Yea, the kid has issues. He's also 8! And the big burly cop with a bullet proof vest really needed pepper spray for an 8 year old?
Wow, just wow! Well, and what a puss of a cop.
Seriously! What MAN can't grab an 8year old weilding a broken stick? Puh Leeeeese! Yea, big threat here indeed.

Cops are too quick now to break out the pepper spray and tazers for, what do they call it?!?! Oh yea, my new favorite term...."Pain Compliance".

Why stop there? I say we hold him indefinately under provisions of the Patriot Act. He's clearly a domestic terrorist! We can put him on the No Fly List too! FORVER! Jeez, what a joke! Pathetic police work at it's best! The police and school system policies of Zero Tolerance have become a bad joke for America. Land of the free and home of the brave is now the over bearing scientific police state control grid.

Something to remember....

To be governed is to be watched, inspected, spied upon, directed, law-driven, numbered, regulated, enrolled, indoctrinated, preached at, controlled, checked, estimated, valued, censured, commanded, by creatures who have neither the right nor the wisdom nor the virtue to do so.
*
*
To be governed is to be at every operation, at every transaction noted, registered, counted, taxed, stamped, measured, numbered, assessed, licensed, authorized, admonished, prevented, forbidden, reformed, corrected, punished.
*
*
It is, under pretext of public utility, and in the name of the general interest, to be place(d) under contribution, drilled, fleeced, exploited, monopolized, extorted from, squeezed, hoaxed, robbed; then, at the slightest resistance, the first word of complaint, to be repressed, fined, vilified, harassed, hunted down, abused, clubbed, disarmed, bound, choked, imprisoned, judged, condemned, shot, deported, sacrificed, sold, betrayed; and to crown all, mocked, ridiculed, derided, outraged, dishonored.

This is America today! Oh, and now we pepper spray children! Cuz we'll show them who's boss!

That's progress to a liberal. When i attended school things would have went something like this: First the child would have been told to behave, then he/she would have been marched into the hallway and had his/her ass set on a fire with a 2 pound ping pong paddle with ventilated holes {for maximum air resistance} as it traveled towards your ass at 200mph, then the fun part came when you got home, "tipped off" by the little birdie that always told on you, you found daddy or mommy waiting with a belt or a switch to finish what YOU started at school. Sooooo after all this "progress" by the good liberal advocators, your schools are now unsafe, your children are either in danger by fellow students or under surveillance by the gestapo police state who will gladly use deadly force on a pre-k if nessesary. Not only are they not learning anything anymore, they are also then sent home via the violent streets of America that make Afganistan look like Wally Cleavers neighborhood. I dont think this nation can survive another 40+ years of liberalism myself.

Sue, thats the problem today with kids, they are not taught right from wrong at home. Growing up, us kids didnt get a "time out" from dear ole dad, if we didnt straighten up we got a knock out.

Had the officer just knocked the kid out, so the parents could collect him, not only would he be in jail, but his town would be bankrupted by lawyers and television would have the next Charie Sheen.

hey, you'll like this one. I jog a lot and do a lotta K-9 training. As in hard police dogs. One of my neighbors have this nice dog, pet quality, that was aggressive on leash when they walked him. Everytime he went off they'd both pet him 'trying to calm him.' Can't do that with a dog, because they are reinforcing the very behavior they are trying to diminish.

I hate trying to teach airheads, but I'd thought I'd try. I stopped my jog and told them what they were doing and what to do. As in, just a couple good corrections on the choke chain.

They poo-pooed and I vowed never to talk sense to idiots again.

Well, the story gets worse, as they GOT RID of the dog!

What happened to their methodology?

Dang. Poor dog.
