Googling on "cannabis medical" refutes your point quickly. You can even find a dictionary on all diseases which can be helped or cured through it (mote than 2000 entries).
It is not quite responsible to suggest that heroin is better than pot, as heroin *is* addictive, and does not lead to anything interesting, except pain relief.
But OK, from an entheogene points of view, cannabis is not that deep, and interested people can use Salvia divinorum instead. It is non toxic and non addictive, and it produces an intense, life changing, but very short effect (5/10 minutes). You can meet the Virgin Mary, explore parallel realities, and remember who you were when living out of time and space. Salvia is the stronger natural hallucinogen known today, it has a crazy anti-addiction effect, so that you can use it, like tabernanthe iboga to cure basically any addiction,... and it is legal, at least in california and many states and countries. The main reason for this is that big pharma does not want to reiterate the cannabis mistake, I think, as salvia is quite promising in the search of non addictive pain killer and anesthesia. Like cannabis, it seems to be able to cure many disease, notably by boosting the immune system. I would manage a green pharma, I would sell as much salvia than cannabis.

when I was younger, back in the 80's.. I hung out with all these deadheads in berkeley. I thought they were all cool. never got mad. always talking of helping others. then, in the early 90's. this was like a little over 10 years of friendship, they started changing on me. talking irrationally.

it was like they couldn't accept another viewpoint. if you had an opinion about something that was opposite of their belief, you couldn't be their friend anymore.

this was an absolute.

this happened to most everybody I knew who took pot. yeah. they had their stories about walking around seeing things the way cows saw it. funny stories.

they all ended up mean, disenchanted with the world people. willing to do whatever it takes to change the world to what they thought the way it should be.

willing to even sacrifice their own country in an attempt to solve poverty in the world.

stupid, arrogant, pos humans who cannot tell the difference between right and wrong anymore.

to this day, I remember seeing pelosi stare at bush with this evil look on her face. definitely, a pothead.

I still have many of the same friends I had back in 1969, a few of them have passed on though. I never experienced what you say you did or at least maybe not as drastic. Did your friends drink or do other drugs? I can remember a couple of people I knew back in the day that did get a little strange as they aged but I think they partied way too much. I've been disabled since 1989 and about the only time I smoke pot now is in the evening just before bed, its the only way I can get a good nights sleep. Its illegal here in Kentucky so I guess I'm an outlaw and should be in prison.

That is so silly. There is no such thing as "medical" Marijuana. Marijuana is a dangerous highly addictive class 1 illegal drug. I agree with you about the RICH politicians. but you got it all wrong saying that the republicans are the only ones at fault here.

Ronald. I'm afraid you deny evidence. Marijuana is not addictive at. By addictive I mean the presence of physiological response to withdrawal. Marijuana can be said (unlike salvia) habituating, but everything pleasant is habituating (TV, sports, fruit juice, etc.).
And medical marijuana exists, since thousand of years. There are tuns of evidence easily accessible. You can completely cure certain illness from sciatica to cancers. Marijuana is one of the best, safe and efficacious, medication in the world, perhaps with salvia and iboga coming after.
You are right on the fact that marijuana is illegal, even schedule one, but that is the scandal that we are denouncing and trying to change.
