This whole situation is a mockery of Democracy. Under what circumstance would a single gay judge's ruling have precedence over the lawful will of the people? I guess ethics and bias play no part? What a freaking joke.

The situation's very existence is a measure of how far people have drifted from reality.

The lawful will of the people was thwarted when CA decided to vote out what was already legal.

If equal rights had been put up for popular vote back in the 60's we would still see Jim Crow Laws. What is constitution is the only thing that counts.

This Judge doesn't seem predisposed to overturn the original Judge's decision. Cowboy up.

A few thoughts...

-Being gay is not a protected status under the Civil Rights Act of 1964.

-California only voted on an amendment clarifying the legal interpretation of marriage regarding Prop 8.

-This judge is predisposed to rule in favor of his twisted views and seems to think that his opinion supercedes the voting process. He had no grounds to issue any ruling.

-This situation respresents the unethical use and abuse of judicial authority.

This has nothing to do with gay rights and everything to do with money.

The best thing to do is remove all legal connections to a "marriage."

No marriage tax benefits
No marriage financial advantages

Problem solved.

Marry your car if you want to. I couldn't care less.

Today, in an historic and forceful decision, US District Court Chief Judge James S. Ware denied anti-marriage forces' motion to throw out the decision that ruled Prop. 8 unconstitutional.
He erased all doubt that the Prop. 8 trial was anything but fair and thorough and sent a powerful message that extreme fringe groups cannot strong-arm the law.

We don't live in a DEMOCRACY......we live in A REPRESENTATIVE REPUBLIC!!!

I personally am sick of hearing about the "WILL OF THE PEOPLE"......this was a discriminatory proposition to basically ELIMINATE a right to marry from a particular part of the population........just because of who they are and who they want to marry!!!

The reality is that GAYS AND LESBIANS DESERVE THE RIGHT TO MARRY THE PERSON OF THEIR CHOOSING JUST LIKE YOU DO......or should we put your right to marry to a vote as well?

Please put it to a vote and promise to vote against it. It won't matter. When you're voting for mainstream, mainstream wins.
