I feel bad for Jason and his family. I live here and always thought of him as a good hard working family man. For the past 22 years I have seen expats and tourists raise all kinds hell here, myself included. We have a big surfer and backpacker crowd that come here to cut loose, to say the least. Ive seen deaths, injuries, extensive property damage, trafficking, alcohol and drug abuse, etc... But never have I seen someone get such a stiff sentence as Jason, not even Eric Volz spent so much time in prison.
There must be something more to this than we are all led to believe. I hope the appeals court goes well for him.

Sanjuanfan, I could really use your advice regarding our upcoming trip to Nicaragua. We're looking for someone who lives there to answer a few questions we have. Would you be willing to help us?

My advice: San Juan is a total shit-show. Avoid it at all costs.
