Dino Brown will be well advised not to seek a third term in the governor's office because it will alienate the young generation of California voters who see him as the image of an old worn out retread of the past. He will be a sure loser specially among the conservatives who see his avid support of gay marriage as an indication of a political debt that must be paid.

Hi, I just turned 18 and will register to vote for the next governor. I've never heard of Jerry Brown but I know Meg Whitman of Ebay, she's a cool character in the high tech business. So who's Jerry?

Ha Ha, here we go. Mr. Brown is an older guy who has been in politics for many moons, following in the footsteps of his father. If memory serves me right, he has run for Governor before, maybe failed, maybe not. Maybe it was his father who was Governor. At any rate, it will be fun. Good luck to Meg Whitman, I've heard her radio commercials. Maybe a woman Governmor wouldn't be such a bad idea. The men have certainly proven worthless.

Jerry "Governor Moonbeam" Brown was California governor back in the 70's. He was a raging liberal then and still is. He became mayor of that toilet of a town Oakland and did nothing to improve that city and has politically "job hopped" ever since. He was useless as a governor then and would be a disaster now.

Jerry "Moon Beam" Brown? A very old man, a typical Democrat, who will make a "tax/fee" slave out of you in a heart beat so he can re-distribute your earnings to Gov. employees, union members, illegals and welfare leeches.

California is already bankrupt! Want more? Vote for the "Moon Beam" man!

Hey! Where's Linda!

Thanks for info, Dave. I had thought he was but couldn't remember. Quite a nickname for him ...'Moonbeam'

Here is what you need to know about Jerry Brown more than anything else and it's something he wishes people would not talk about: He presided over the state of California in 1978 when the state had a $7 Billion dollar surplus in it's coffers all the while the state was continually raising property taxes breaking the back of the middle class in this state. While this went on unabated and without care by California officials to the economic hardship continually rising taxes was doing to the lower and middle class homeowners Jerry and his cohorts ignored pleas to halt the tax increase. This gave an opportunity to a landlord named Howard Jarvis who used a little known law to start initiatives to rein in state government and thus was born Proposition 13. Now Prop 13 saved the necks of a lot of homeowners but it was also added to real estate coffers of landlords big and small and real estate conglomerates and corporations whose taxes were reined in as well. So the state has been scrambling for taxes ever since all because Jerry brown and the Democratic legislature he reined over decided $8 billion dollars in 1978 ($30 billion dollars in present tense) wasn't enough and they wanted to economically rape the citizens of this state more and he set into motion what the state is now experiencing. Thanks Jerry! If you want a deserving candidate for the Governership of California look at Tom Campbell and let the man decide your vote not his party. He is a class act with sense and dignity unlike Gov Moonbeam or Meg 'I don't have time to vote' Whitman
