We have to worry about our future, how to recover from Obama policies, and how to reverse the Obama economy. Our country can not sustain the debt, unemployment and despair that Obama has plagued us with.

Do you think Iraq is better off? Do you think Afghanistan is better off?(the Assembly is about to vote a law approving stoning adulterers to death). Were Central American and some South American countries better off thanks to your constitution from the 50s to the late 80s? Do you even know what you are talking about? Do you know the enormity of your ignorance?
Extremely small numbers of people have benefited from Obama policies, maybe some extremely rich people have benefited. Historically the World has benefited from the sacrifices and hard work that our colonial forefathers and our industrial ancestors devoted to making this country great. Our heritage is something that we should all be proud of this Thanksgiving and every day. Obama can not take that away from us.

Our Constitution has stood against tyranny for far more than two hundred years.
The US Constitution does not say anything about requiring a 60 vote supermajority in order to get an official confirmed. In fact, it is quite clear that the supermajority idea is not what the Constitution intended. With the exception of treaties and impeachment trials, the Constitution assumes a simple majority vote in the Senate, as in the House. The Constitution doesn't say anything about filibusters either.

Read it again Frank, slowly. You are replying to a post about abuse of the filibuster. Republicans have filibustered 16 appointments per year (judicial and executive). That's several times the rate that Dems filibustered Bush appointees. That's unacceptable obstructionism.

That's 99 percent?

If I did not let my dogs out one of them would have left a landmine near the back door!

Thank goodness they didn't have to stay out long as we have been spared another story about Bill's tool.

BTW, happy Thanksgiving, everyone.(You too Rogue.)

BTW, I quit my professor job and took a new ft corporate position writing legal opinions (working from home in my pjs). The CEO mentioned that under Obamacare the healhcare plans were more diverse and better than they were previously. I chose the HSA (as did the CEO). It's a great plan.

And I can keep my private patent practice to boot.

Why have a Senate, if the people that we voted for are not given an opportunity to debate on the floor? Congressional procedures were around long before Obama ever took office. Why do you think that Obama should conduct rules different than his three and half dozen predecessors? You are an obvious racist if you think that Obama should have a different set of rules just because his father was a Kenyan?

Obama should have a different set of rules? The rules are given in the Constitution. Advise and consent. There is no 60% cloture rule in the Constitution. Incidentally, the Senate rules are Senate rules for the Senate adopted by the Senate, not Obama's rules.

Why have a senate if it is constantly bogged down in politically motivated filibuster. Flat out obstruction is not good faith debate, incidentally.

LOL, Fwank again displays his ignorance of Senate procedure.

All a senator has to do is write a nice note saying they intend to filibuster and cloture is invoked. No unlimited debate. No debate at all.

One whiny Republican scratches out a note on a Post-it and
the issue is dead. The lazy toads don't even have so much as to utter a single word.

Of course there's no mention of the filibuster in the Constitution. The only provision is that the Senate can make its own rules, which it did.

Of course the president does not have that power, but in Fwank's America the president is simultaneously a milquetoast apologist and an all-powerful dictator.

Fwank's version of America sure is schizophrenic.

Here Is Ted Cruz Reading 'Green Eggs And Ham' On The Senate Floor

During his marathon speech on the Senate floor Tuesday in opposition to funding the Affordable Care Act in the continuing resolution, Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) took a break ... to read bedtime stories to his two young girls.

He said that his two daughters were watching C-SPAN2 at home he told them to turn on the station at 8 p.m. Cruz read his daughters verses from the Bible. And then he moved on to the Dr. Seuss classic, "Green Eggs and Ham."

Jason Johnson, Cruz's chief campaign strategist, tweeted a photo of Cruz's daughters watching him on television at home:
