Safety week involved CPR and First Aid as well as Defensive Driving. My second week started with three days of ride-a-longs with experienced techs at my assigned yard. Back to the Training Center on Thursday and Friday for IW/PW training. Next up is Wire week. So far, so good.
Did you climb poles the first week? Or at all?

No pole climbing in Nor Cal for Prem Techs. They say that might change some time down the line. Your first week will probably be Safety week. It involves learning first aid, CPR, handling a fiberglas extension ladder, as well as defensive driving.

I have been researching Prem Tech jobs because I hear some may be opening again in San Diego. I have searched the internet endlessly for reviews of the job. Mostly everything I have found has been negative.
Do you have any positive points about the job? What was the starting pay. How much OT are you getting?

After two months from day that they sent me an email said that I am qualified for the Prem Tech. I still haven't heard anything from AT&T yet.

Whats up guys. I just finish taking the test last week In Fresno, California(Technical Mechanical Test Field II assessment). At first I was worried about the test. But lets just say, it was really easy, but some were struggling during the test. 50 questions in 50 mins, I finished it in about 35 mins or so. Enough time to re-check and re-check my answers again. It was a room about 56 Candidates, and only 15 (give or take)including me were "Qualified" as they said. This was on Nov 1st. They said they would email to schedule the RJP & PTA after a week or so.

My question is. What will they ask me specifically on the PTA? What were some of the questions the HR interviewer asked you guys, when you all went through this process. And will it really take a week to sched the RJP & PTA? Thank for the help PT's

Week 2 IWPW pass or fail
Week 3 Wire week pass or fail
CPE Customer premesis equipment pass or fail
You'll have some ride alongs in between but after that your done with pass or fail
Then it's INID and advanced trouble shooting

Just finished class training, 1 more week of ride along and I'm on my own in San Rafael. If your about to do training...... Just pay attention and take notes. They want you to pass and on Friday of each week is a test. Iwpw week 2 lots of reading and wall fishing. The tests are open book all the way through training for the most part. Wire week you have to hook up at the bbox and wire a fake house for phone, tv and Internet in 3 hours sharp. Any longer and you fail. I did it in 1 hour 45 min. CPE you have to know the remote and role play a new install by teaching the cust our services. Remote, dvr, guide, yahoo page ect. I hope this helps you guys

Thanks technorcall I'll contact the office in sac
So what is human resources email address or phone number in Sacramento? I am going through the same process and I am still waiting to hear back from HR about my status as well. Is Sacramento the area I want to contact for HR if I live in Mendocino County?

I jusy finished up my realistic preview/assessment in San Ramon last week.(JUNE6) Got an email that I qualify and I will put in a pull of qualified applicants. My stats now says: Awaiting HR review. What does that mean? And what does the physical test consist of? And anything I should know before hand. Really excited about the job. I'm only 21. So I'm sure you can guess why the excitement. And tips from veteran techs I should know. Just tryna gather as much info as possible.
