For the total cost of building, retrofitting and decommissioning of coal and nuclear plants, how much energy storage could a utility get? When the buzz word was "clean coal" it was estimated the cost of a large coal plant using "clean" technology would cost somewhere upwards of 4 billion dollars to build. Nuclear, around 12 billion dollars to build. Has no think tank taken on this issue and even tried to generate a number of how much energy can be stored at what equivalent cost to coal or natural gas or nuclear?
