Their are power lines and the end of my street all the people in the four corner houses have died from cancer. Now the new people who moved in are dieing of cancer. We are on the thrid set of people in some houses. I bought jamming device to block EMF. It works good you can not use a cell pshone the water company get pick up their signal from any of the houses around me. I wonder if it will block edison signal. It block all EMF. from the out side. It is the wave of the future to protect our selfs from all these divice.

A jammer uses RF to jam RF, it's called the capture effect, the stronger signal wins.
If the jammer's made to block cellphones, 976MHz-1.7gHz, it won't block a smartmeter, 902-928MHz.
You'd be better-off pittung a metal coffee can over the entire meter, besides it's cheaper than buying a jammer.
or You could buy a used motorola 900Mhz radio and program it for the desired frequency, but then of course You'd be producing RF as well...but You would certainly mess-up alot of meters with 10 watts...could be fun.

What a story the Edison Company has conspired against the public to raise rates by installing new metters. With all the people out of work. Working for less this is what you Government things of you. We will just charge you more to pay for our green program. Folks we are under attack by the Federal State and local Government to raise taxes to pay for their programs. The Government doe not care about your program to support your family and they do not care what happens to you as long as Government goes forward. Edison is now arm of the Government their not are friend they are a tax crazy Company who has teamed up with the Government. It called go green.

I'm a one person household on the level pay plan and am rarely home (only to sleep and shower it seems). I changed out almost all of the lightbulbs to the new energy efficient ones going on 2 years ago. My electric bill has been steadily climbing and is now $125 per month!
This seems very strange???? Do you have a huge house? Do you leave lights, radios, or TV's on when you leave so the house doesnt seem so empty? We're home pretty often and there's 4 of us and our bill is close to but less then $100- Our home is only 1250SF though....

If You double-up on the tin foil, then place it over the plastic on the meter it would work to block the signal going outwards, but not into the residence.
And there's a good chance that the reflecting signal could create a high SWR (standing wave ratio)on the transitter, thus burning out the PA.(final amplifier)
For every high tech gadget, there's a simple, yet very effective low tech sollution.

Report it.
They'll swap it out with a new meter, no questions asked.
A local eatery had Their electricity bill quadruple in one month after installation, and it was found to be faulty.
I left my place for about a month last year when they slapped an idiotmeter on My shack, completely shutting off My power at the box and got a bill for around 7 bucks, about the cost of the meter transmitting My-0- usage.
The meter is wired so that regardless of Your usage, it'll still charge You for the transmitter.
The secondary harmonic interferes with My UHF radios, a Federal offence, so now I have a disabled meter, non-transmitting.

I can't understand why the article doesn't mention the increases? It is clear that edison isn't doing this to save you money. Thanks for looking out for consumers guys.
Edison isnt here to look out for the public there here to make another billion increase to keep the chinks and japs that own them happy

Remember this post when your bills go up.
This is all part of a fleecing of Edison customers.
Once the hourly power usage is tracked next year, you'll notice your bill goes up. This is because they will be able to charge you for peak usage, rather than their antiquated 'baseline' metering.
It has NOTHING to do with Edison moron. It was ordered by the Federal government and is worldwide. It is part of the control of the police state being set up for the "Beast". ALL utilities have to comply!

Another moron! Edison is a publicly traded corporation. They are regulated by the CPUC. The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission regulates the CPUC. Edison does what government tells it like all corporations do. It is not the corporation that decided to install these meters.

(Agrees with Randy)

When I lived in Colton, in the 80's, my bill was rarely under $60.00 a month on a 2 BR Apt, without running the central to cool or heat. Using the central unit took it up over $144.00 for a month.

Moving to a 2 BR Apt, in SCE territory, cut my bill clean in half, allowing me to live like a human being in the Summers and Winters.(Still in the 80's.)

However, after moving out to Bermuda Dunes (a water district controlled electrical distribution region), I rarely paid over $30.00 a month during the months wherein I had to use that central air conditioner. Most times, my bill floated between $12.00 and $14.00.(This was in the 90's--funny that.)

Anyway, The meters are for remote reading, as has been stated before. The Illuminati has nothing to do with them, and neither does the CIA; so people can return to claiming that the Moon landing was faked, and that the US government attacked its own civilians on 9/11.

More to the point:
Edison's costs are largely fixed. Absent line upgrades, they do NOT expend more to provide you greater amounts of power to your home; however, Edison is leading the charge to reduce your power consumption.

How do you think they will keep the same profit margin, while keeping the IBEW off their backs, without raising rates? If you use less, they will have to charge you more for it. It's simple math, folks.

That is the logical foundation for Dynamic Rate Scales, and the new meters DO facilitate the determination of instantaneous meter usage, allowing Edison to charge you more for peak hours consumption.

I'd be interested to see what changes are being made to the metering rates for industrial consumers--if any.

Two years ago I replaced three 5 ton AC units on my building. That summer's billing came in and I was pleased that my usage was half that of the previous year. What astounded me that the money owed was more than the previous year, even though my usage was cut in half. There was no mistakes they said. They blamed it on my demand from large machinery. I said impossible because the large machinery was part of another system and another meter. They didn't have an answer for that.
