WHY IS THE SAME LAW FIRM (LACKIE, DAMMEIER AND McGILL) THAT REPRESENTS THE MONTEBELLO POLICE UNION ON LABOR NEGOTION MATTERS .....

ALSO REPRESENTING A SITTING COUNCIL MEMBER (SALAZAR) IN A LAWSUIT AGAINST THE CITY?????

SHOULDN'T THE DAMMEIER LAW FIRM WITHDRAW AS THE ATTORNEYS FOR THE MPOA???

COULD IT BE THAT THE FIRM SEES A BENEFIT TO ITS UNION CLIENT BY HELPING A SITTING COUNCIL MEMBER WIN MONEY AGAINST THE CITY??????

COULD IT BE THAT THE UNION ONLY WITHDREW IT'S SUPPORT FOR PUBLIC RELATIONS PURPOSES ONLY???

Do these three really understand reality. Can't they just admit their mistakes and move on. Are their egos so big that they don't realize the harm they are doing to the city?. Montebello used to be a great place to work, shop and live in but all thats changed because of the acts of these three. I applaud the officers for standing united over all of the issues listed in the 26 page complaint. Maybe if it was just 2 or 3 ok, BUT it's a lot more. And I'm hearing more are adding themselves because they too were wronged. LASO get ready, Montebello will be calling soon. Is there ever going to be an end to all this garbage? We can only hope so!

I guess the three stooges just couldn't wait to give a response to the allegations made by these officers! It is my understanding that when you are an elected official and are representing a city, you should have NO comment on any type of pending litigation due to possible liability to the city. Well, this abrupt attempt to defend themselves publicly just demonstrates the type of clowns they are!Always about them...what about the liability issue brought to the city? I have never seen this before...it must be because of GUILT over the damage caused to the city, community, TAX payers, and the fine officers that put their lives on line line every day to keep you safe. Kathy, Robert, and Rosie, i hope you never have the need for any of theses officers help because I can assure you that even though they are being harmed by all of you, they will still protect you from harms way. That is just who they are...ethical, and professional!Oh, I forgot...you three wouldn't understand anything about ethics or professionalism, I'm sorry.

So let's get this straight.

The Three Stooges who are:
1. under DA scrutiny
2. sued for illegally voting on the Athens trash contract, and Vasquez for illegally signing it
3. subject of a recall drive
4. named by 13 career officers from all levels in the department for politicizing the Police Department
5. lied to the public about the $2 Million give-away to the Quiet Cannon

And now they violate the Brown Act by holding a meeting to discuss a current investigation.

Is there any end to their arrogance or stupidity?

I saw it on ch11 yesterday. They just don't get it. They never addressed the real alegations but picked out small details that "they" claim are false.

They have no credibility with me or my neighbors. We support our officers first.

We can't wait for the recall election to happen.

Be careful refering to them as the three stooges. The relations of Larry Curly and Moe hold the rights to their names likeness and Images. And the Three Stooges do not deserve to be compaired to these individuals!!!

They held a press conference to make individual statements about the false allegations made against them. How is that a meeting? You drank the Molinari/Roble kool-aid. How sad.

I saw the same report and it sure seemed like they only talked about the politics of the claims and nothing about the underlying claims of the officers.

I guess there is a political fight hidden in the claims because I am sure that the officers each have different claims.

It is kind of interesting that all the officers have the same lawyer.

Its hard to feel sorry for officers that have jobs and are being paid. There are millions of Californians that are unemployed due to the difficult economic times. I say all 13 officers should get fired if the allegations turn out to be false. This lawsuit is going to cost residents of Montebello millions of dollars, that at this time we can not afford. The timing is bad and I sure hope it is not politically motivated. This lawsuit will not hurt the people named, it is going to come out of our pockets in the end. This is nothing to be happy about. This lawsuit will hurt Montebello regardless of who is right or wrong.

SMR, i have been following these events for a book that i plan on writing. The POA is doing the right thing to right several wrongs. The citiznes that i have talked with, have confidence in the officers and support them. Please read the complaint and you will see why this is such a hot topic. Beleive me, as i have said before, all of law enforcement is watching whats happens in Montebello. You have to understand that it takes courage to stand up for what you believe in. Kudos go to the cops of Montebello, California. SMR, even you have rights to fight for what you believe in and if you were wronged as the complaint indicates.

I am sure that all of the officers are grateful to have good jobs, especially in today's economy when so many are unemployed. However, should they be so grateful to be employed that they stand by silently and allow discrimination, retaliation, cronyism and the stench of back-door deals to permeate the department? It takes far more courage to stand and fight for what is right than to look the other way or to cut and run. Politically motivated? The crowning of Chief Wiest, the demotions of good officers, the promotion of cronies--these are the acts that were politically motivated. These officers have the fortitude to say, "Enough! We will not stand for the deconstruction of our department by spurious forces, unsavory politicians and carpetbaggers."

OK OK, its like OJ Simpson. Everybody is part of the conspiracy. I guess you can chalk up whittier daily news now for not posting their special council meeting 24 hours in advance.

So now its the rogue cops, the Montebello Police Association, Bill Molinari, Montebello Citizens for the Recall, Chief Couso Vasquez, Chief Randy Narramore, The trash Haulers, Chris Robles, over 14,000 Montebello citizens who signed the recall against Kathy and over 11,000 that signed against Robert all involved in a conspiracy to pick on the future of Kathy, Robert and Rosie.

We would all like to see them pull that theory off in court. Oh dont forget the two Montebello Police Officers, seperate from unlucky 13. For those of you who dont know, these two young IRAQ veterans who are Montebello Police Officers, were denied benefits, while they served in IRAQ. They too have been forced to seek legal action against the city. SOUND FAMILIAR. OOPS THEY DID IT AGAIN. Oh I guess we can just add those two war veteran officers to the conspiracy also. You know after a while the excuses get old, one after another.

GO TO COURT ALREADY AND LET A JURY OF THEIR PEERS HEAR THIS CASE. The officers are doing it the correct and legal way, Kathy, Robert and Rosie are doing it, WELL we all know how their doing it. Pretty soon Jacoby and Meyers wouldnt defend them in court. Cant wait to hear your comeback on ths one. More excuses I bet

Are your really that ill informed? After reading the claim it is clear that Salazar, Urteaga and Vasquez did NOTHING legally wrong.

The political sour grapes in the claim against these politicians is pathetic. Waaah, waaah, they chose a Chief I didn't want to head the department, waah, waah. Nothing illegal there. Even if you believe the fantasy that it was part of some POLITICAL deal, that's politics, nothing illegal there. But since it didn't happen, even more so nothing illegal.

Now, the City may have to defend the Chief if those officers allegations turn out to be true, but the politicians won't be in that court room.

Notice, NO EXCUSES, just hard facts! You need a reality check.

The Chief's actions after being hired are independent from the rest of the garbage in the claims. He will have to explain his decisions, but the politicians don't have to explain anything about those claims.

Think before you respond.

OK Kudos on your response. The seperation of defendants BEGINS. There is always a fall guy in every multi defendant case. Why would this case be any different.

And in your response about the politicians dont have to explain. DONT THINK SO.

Its called VICARIOUS LIABILITY. Neglant Hiring, Neglagent retention. Dont worry it will come up in court, thats the best place, because opinions dont count. First topic, uneducated chief selection and then on and on and on and on from there.

Oh I noticed you had no comment about the other two officers that served in IRAQ. Will the politicians not have to explain that as well.
