No dummy, wood is organically formed from CO2 in the atmosphere. Burning wood simply recycles it. However fossil fuels have been deposited in the Earth for eons. Digging them up or pumping them up releases CO2 back into the atmosphere that has been sequestered for millions of years upsetting the carbon balance today and increases global warming.<quoted text>
Yeah yeah, "radical". You think you are soooo clever telling me burning wood leads to CO2. And eating meat really strains the eco system along with Ethanol-corn destroying virgin lands to make more ethanol for a zero-sum carbon exceeding gasolin.
I don't know about "conspiracy". The Global warming fascists are both to stupid and haughty to pull off something like that in an acceptable fashion. However, the entire scientific establishment is falling onto this like a hamster in a wheel. The consensus is staggering, superseding even Saddams election results. And the more normal people question this , the haugtier and nastier you people become.
So, if you care about "global warming" and carbon-credits, why don't you start with no meat, milk, eggs or honey, all combined contributing a lot to your daily excesses. This, along with driving a car. I don't eat any animal products, but Not because I believe in any of this crap. However, YOU as chief pontiff here, need to at least stop eating meat, you selfish, greedy, haughty double-standard tool.
(Of course, if you already are Vegan, give your car away and reduce electricity consumption by at least 95%. Lead by example for once and maybe someone will follow you by choice).
As far as meat is concerned, if cattle raised by eating grass the without massive feeding of cereal grains from modern agricultural practices, then the process is essentially carbon neutral. However, cereal grains for human consumption today depends upon the massive input of fossil fuels of modern agricultural practices. So eating cereal grains, fruits, and vegetables etc. is NOT carbon neutral.
I do not advocate that everyone stops eating, but that we try to do so as sustainably as possible. And as far as driving a car, this is necessary because the utilization of cheap fossil fuels built an infrastructure that created the necessity of driving to the super market, etc. Since the infrastructure does not allow for viable neighborhood markets it is necessary for most folks to utilize some sort of powered transportation. Perhaps EV's will help, especially with the building of more and more non fossil fuel fired generation plants. This cannot happen overnight and will require that we bridge the new technology with fossil fuels until they are developed.
My, my, it sounds as if you are another of the RW scientifically illiterate haters. Science is not partisan. Government is necessary, grow up. We are all in this together. I don't hate radical RW folks, I just know they are wrong.
