California voters oppose new vote on gay marriage, poll finds

Full story: www.sanluisobispo.com

A small majority of California voters supports the right of gay couples to marry, but a much larger portion of voters opposes efforts to place the issue back on the ballot in 2010, a new Los Angeles Times/University of Southern California poll has found. Views on same-sex marriage were sharply polarized based on political party, with 66 percent of Democrats thinking it should be legal and 71 percent of Republicans in opposition. Nonpartisan voters were less enthusiastic than Democrats, but still backed it, 59 percent to 34 percent. Overall, 51 percent of California voters favored marriage rights for same-sex couples and 43 percent were opposed. However, almost 60 percent of Californians did not want to revisit the issue in 2010, just one election cycle after it last hit the ballot.

Why are these people so ashamed to tell the truth during a poll?

Put it up for a vote every year until it passes.

Pay attention, Roisia. 51 states have not voted on it. Only 31. And all 31 states have rejected it.

Were you looking in the mirror when you said "clueless queen?" We're talking about a repeal of Proposition 8 through a new constitutional amendment, vote on by the electorate. The voters can't repeal what they just voted on.

And in case you haven't noticed, support for keeping people like you closeted and afraid of your own sexuality is diminishing, not increasing. Once marriage equality passes at the ballot box, that's the end for your side.

I sometimes wonder if Ex Lax Celebrex is the disorder closet case he presents himself as, or whether heterosexual "Christian" haters run around pretending to be "ex gays" online in an attempt to garner some perverse kind of reparations therapy credibility. You know, lying is okay so long as you're lyin fer jeebus.

Marriage equality is going to take awhile. In the meantime the kook forgot that MA voters had a chance to put the revocation of their marriage equality on the ballot and didn't feel strongly enough to do so.

New Hampshire and Iowa look like they'll be the next interesting, test cases.

And then there's the states where efforts to adopt marriage equality are brewing. All but the really deranged sickos will get over this issue eventually.

I think not. The people in CA have spoken, so instead of trying to force what you want down people's throats, just move to 1 of the 5 that want you...

It will never pass at the ballot box. That is why I say "clueless queen". You live in a gay bubble so apparently you are unaware of how little support there is across America for your cause. Maybe you live too close to Canada and that has you confused.

Well when you get it to 51 since your so sure you will. Then you can start making being gay a death penalty offense. When you do i'll be your first i promise. And dont tell me christians dont want that ive seen the signs and heard the talk.

In fact i saw one sign that says Homosexuality should be a death penalty offense like the bible says. I mean after all what do we matter were just gay.

Nope. The people of California have the right to vote on this over & over & over until enough of you old bigots die off. You barely won the vote in CA this time, so unless you can give birth to a million new bigots in time for the next election then you're going to lose.

If the people voted away your right to marry would you just shrug it off and go away? You may be a wimp, but the rest of us will continue to fight until we win.

Yeah, I can tell. Is that why 31 states have voted against gay marriage?

Daily Horoscope for November 24

Virgo

If you've been under pressure lately, you might reach critical mass today. The sensitive Moon clashes with the Sun, adding an edge to the mood in your relationships. You're likely to bite your room-mate's head off if your head isn't bitten off first... try to find something to laugh about to ease the tension. Those of you in intimate relationships can channel all this wild energy into passionate encounters, so avoid senseless bickering.
