Local prison employees honored for bravery

Employees from Kern Valley State Prison and Wasco State Prison were honored Thursday by the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation for heroic actions that, in separate incidents, saved the lives of a crash victim and of an inmate who was being choked to death by his cellmate.
