Did you choose to be an idiot or were you born that way. Read it again. I SAID if it WERE A CHOICE there would be more lesbians. In other words, IT ISN'T A CHOICE! Damn I get tired of functional illiterates.
And I get tired of total biotches. Say what you mean and mean what you say. I quoted your statement...exactly. I'm not a functional illiterate but you are a rude biotch....I don't care whether you're straight or gay or if you support it, your statement was stupid and uneducated. If you were my only choice and I were a lesbian I'd be celibate and stay alone because by the sound of your response it would be next to impossible to hold an intelligent debate without you lashing out with insults.

As a black man, we have been in the dumps and know what being discriminated is about, but as a black man we also stand for what's right. Gay people are harmful to the future of our generation. It would be cooh, if you guys kept to yourselves, but now you want your examples in schools, newspapers, marriage liscencing and exct. I am so not for your unhealthy and unhumanistic behaivors to educate this society today. As a black man...I am not discriminating what is right, but what is wrong. Black people yeah....we were and still being discriminated against, but when you bring your sexual preference to that kind of twisted behaivor....that is enough to put up a standard.

Actually you are very wrong! I dont believe in God, but here is proof for you, since you want to use him.
Leviticus 20:13 states:
“ If a man lies with a man as one lies with a woman, both of them have done what is detestable. They must be put to death; their blood will be on their own heads."
Leviticus 18:22 says:
“ Do not lie with a man as one lies with a woman; it is an abomination.”
Sorry, but you are wrong.
So the person who wrote the bible may be a homophobe (remember God didn't write the bible). And even if god is a discriminatory homophobe as you claim he is...doesn't make it right.

Unfortunately Rich777 is the poster child of a Black Man who has completely forgotten the struggle his ancestors made for equality.
And now that he believes he has reached that equality, he allows his own discriminatory and biased views from eliminating rights from other minorities.
Being Black or White, Asian or Hispanic, does not give you a GREEN LIGHT to discriminate against others. I guess some of us expect those who have been oppressed would be the first to understand the basic concept of equality ... but as Rich777 proves with every word he utters: "Bigotry does not discriminate - it has no bounds or borders" and it spreads like water.
Let us rise above ... and NOT GIVE UP until PROP 8 is OVERTURNED!
Thanks for bringing this out, in the last election the states of California, Arizona and Florida all passed similar measures that will amend their constitution to ensure that the meaning of marriage is not tampered with by politicians and activist judges. GET THIS, IT IS NOT JUST CALIFORNIA THAT VOTED TO BAN GAY MARRIAGE IN THEIR CONSTITUTION.

And if the LGBTs think that they will gain any support by riding on the backs of the marginalized blacks and women whose civil rights were denied at one time, they are dead wrong.

HERE'S ANOTHER FACT: THERE ARE NOW MORE STATES THAT SUPPORT THE TRADITIONAL MEANING OF MARRIAGE EITHER THROUGH CONSTITUTIONAL AMENDMENT OR STATUTORY LAWS. IN FACT THE CITIZENS OF CONNECTICUT ARE IN THE PROCESS OF HOLDING A CONSTITUTIONAL CONVENTION THAT WILL LEAD THIS STATE TO MAKE THE SAME AMENDMENT TO THEIR CONSTITUTION.

IN CALIFORNIA, THE POLITICIANS ARE ONCE AGAIN TRYING TO OVERTURN PROP 8 LIKE THEY DID TO PROP 22. THIS TIME HOWEVER, THE SUPPORTERS OF MARRIAGE WILL NOT SIT BACK AND WATCH THOSE SAME ACTIVIST JUDGES ABUSE THEIR JUDICIAL POWERS. WE SHALL ENSURE THAT THE WILL OF THE PEOPLE WILL PREVAIL AND THE RULE OF LAW WILL BE RESPECTED AND OBEYED BY ALL.

The same way it equates to lower animals. Humans adapt to conditions we can't change. Sexuality is inborn, but people do have sex with same sex partners when opposite sex partners aren't available because having sex with another person is usually preferred to masturbation. If there were a shortage of resources and no birth control, homosexuality would be promoted as a means of humanities survival.
While I agree we are adaptable and sexuality is inborn, I disagree homosexuality would be promoted because of lack of resources and birth control. I've lived in some places with no resources and birth control and I haven't seen homosexuality being promoted and certainly not for humanities survival. Some do gravitate to the same sex when the opposite sex isn't available, that is a choice. Whether it be out of lonliness or physical need, but many more don't. Personally, if it came down to same sex or masterbation? I'd take masterbation.:)

homophobe
civil right (to marry you own sex??)
fundamental right
basic right
hate
seperation of church and state
and now...zealot

You guys really have the down. Do you meet and strategize on this stuff or do you just pick it up along the way. You appear to be quite skilled at framing the argument with terms that meet your agenda. I am impressed...seriously.

Right now the religious right believes that they have a perfect error free Bible with a single harmonious salvation directly from the inspiration of God to guide them in dealing with homosexuals.
What if the Bible is unreliable and can not be trusted? What if it contains inconsistencies and contradictions? Wouldn't that take the wind out of their sails?
GOD: Leviticus 24:21, "...he that killeth a man, he shall be put to death"
versus
Ex. 20:13, "Thou shalt not kill"
ALAN: "God" tells us to kill those who kill, and he tells us not to kill. Is it any wonder our Christians friends are such idiots!
Once a Christian begins to see that his Bible is an abomination and his religion a crime against humanity will he begin to reject his anti-gay and homophobic lifestyle.
You would be amazed at what showing a Christian two verses that contradict each other can do to his mind-set. In fact I insist that this is the only viable response to anythiing Christian, show another Bible contradiction.
Why here is another one now!
GOD: Judges 14:19, "And the spirit of the Lord came upon him and he went down to Ashkelon, and slew 30 men of them and took their spoil...",
versus
GOD: Gal. 5:22,"But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, long suffering, gentleness..."
ALAN: Christians will tell us God is love, joy and peace, but won't tell us that those filled with the spirit of the Lord can kill and rob.
The reason Christians can only tell us about the alledged love is because of their complete and total ignorance of the Bible. They do not know the other verse, their biblical ignorance is astounding.
We must inform them. At Christian Biblical Errancy Debate, a Multiply group we have more than enough information to show the Christians how their BIble fails them on every issue, on every question including homosexuality.
Would Christians be so mean and hateful if they knew Jesus was gay and that Lazarus was his lover? Or that God's favorite person King David married Jonathan, a young boy?
To fight back against the Christians you need the right weapons and at CBED we have more than you could ever be able to use.
If they want to quote the Bible then we must fight fire with fire, quote it right back at them and show them where it fails, where it can not be trusted and where it is unreliable.
I only have one word for you:

If someone asks a group of homophobes to say the ABC's, if you all say it the same way does that mean you got together to strategize? The terms we use are the most concise and appropriate words to discuss this particular issue.

Let me make it clearer for you since you can't comprehend a complex sentence.

If women could decide to be lesbians there would be more lesbians because there are too many ignorant men like you who should not be allowed to breed. People do not decide to become homosexuals. That is the way people are born. If you disagree with that then tell us when and why you decided to be straight.

I think my side has a lot of words but most of us are still trying to be nice. Here's a word - "unconstitutional". You guys try to use that one but its ours now. I think we get the word "rights" now too, or at least in California we do. Check it out:

CALIFORNIA CONSTITUTION
ARTICLE 1 DECLARATION OF RIGHTS

SEC. 7.5. Only marriage between a man and a woman is valid or recognized in California.

Man...that is just poetry isn't it?

It is a travesty and it is a lie. The constitution hasn't been changed and it won't be. The California Supreme Court will once again rule it unconstitutional and you homophobe control freaks will gnash your teeth and whine about activist judges but it won't make discrimination constitutional.
