Let's hear it for sensationalism in the media! I live in Douglas and this article is nothing but pure exaggeration. A few wannabes... sure, but a serious problem it is not. Life in Douglas leans toward the boring side which is pretty much the way a lot of us like it!

I also live in Douglas. Many of the kids I would interact with (By kids I mean High school age) would tell me stories of rival gangs beating each other, or parks that are safe to go to, and parks I should stay away from, especially with my daughter. While you are right, most of it is a small group of kids acting it, and Douglas is definitely boring, I still think that it should be acted upon before it becomes a problem. Five years ago this was not even an issue.
