It means Son Of The Father? Oh what a coincidence. Interesting though that there's no Roman report of the execution of Jesus. Where are these records kept and who studies them?
Never been found in anywhere. The Romans were great at keeping records. Were always sending letters to each other from across the Empire. Discussing everything from family to politics. To even what was going on in their neck of the woods. No one at the time mentions this guy in either public or private letters.
Strange you would think, that if nothing else, there would have been talk of the sermon on the mount. But not a word? From any one? That might have been there. Really?
**shrugs**
But then we are dealing with a record that was written 25 or thirty years after the events were said to have happened. Are in reality copy of copies.

D@mn blue didn't you click the link iI provided or are you having trouble with reading facts that you don't like.

http://www.religionlink.com/tip_091020.php
"Specifically, the number of Wiccans more than doubled from 2001 to 2008, from 134,000 to 342,000, and the same held true for neo-pagans, who went from 140,000 in 2001 to 340,000 in 2008."

http://www.azcentral.com/community/gilbert/ar...
"Numbers on the growth of paganism in the East Valley are not available. But nationally, the growth is reflected in nationwide polls. In the 2008 American Religious Identification Survey, published by the U.S. Census Bureau, 340,000 people openly declared themselves as pagan in the U.S., an increase of 143 percent over the previous reporting period in 2001. That doesn't include those who openly identified themselves as Wiccan, the largest pagan subgroup, whose numbers rose by 155 percent, to 342,000, in the same seven-year period."

Yes blue, the pagan religions are mainstream. Are doing quite well..

And the text also translate as being a general laborer as well.. Making this jesus not a skilled worker, but part of the unskilled labor pool. Who in that time were the bottom end of the social scale as well.

There are no records, period. Neither the romans nor the jews say anything at all about such a person, a trial, or a crucifixion.

Well, let's see, he sold out Madison Square Garden, sold how many million comedy CD's and vids, seems a bunch of people find him funny.

Well, and if the Southern Baptist convention claims, what, 16 million members, United Methidists claim 7 million, and Evanhgelical Lutherans claim 4 million, I'd say they have a little more on the proverbial ball.

Yakov smirnov also made money. Doesn't make him funny; it just means there are people with no taste.

And I'm sure your objections are purely immaterial in the grand scheme of things. The people have spoken and you're overruled!

And the scriptures have been translated so many times into so many different languages. I read the book The Case For Easter in which scholars relied heavily on scripture to support the story of the crucifixion and resurrection, which is the very foundation of Christianity, yet they never touched on the research that shows the gospels were actually written about 300 hundred years after the death of Jesus, that several gospels were not even included in the bible, or that the choice of date for the Easter celebration was more about assimilating pagans than the resurrection irself.
