I just wonder why the ADOR makes it so difficult to get information about when to expect my refund. I sent an e-mail to my state senator Aurthur Orr, after contacting the Taxpayer Advocacy Office which had no more information than I can get by pressing the "Where's my refund" button on the ADORs website. All that provides is wait 8-12 weeks. I've been waiting for 6 months. I filed in March. A few days after contacting Mr. Orr I recieved , for the second time, a letter from the ADOR dated April 20, stating that certain items on my return must be verified before my refund can be approved. After receiving this same letter in April, I received a questionaire which I promptly filled out and returned to the local tax office in Huntsville. The first letter was received just days after I called the ADOR to inquire if my refund had been sent because I had misplaced a days mail and was concerned that the refund check had been lost. Is this supposed to be some kind of intimidation tactic or is the ADOR simply stalling? I am not intimidated. What I am is angry that elected officials in the state which I was born in and have spent my entire life residing in allows this kind of behavior to be perpetuated by a government agency.
