Too bad real journalism no longer exsist. I agree with guest , something is not right at this prison. In the day of real journalism, it would not be commenters to point this out, the real story would be about the possible murder of 2 inmates at the prision.

Problems with this... a softball is NOT a lethal object if it were there would be no dixie youth leagues would exist, hard to believe that a ball could kill someone aside from the pitcher. Note: Baseball payers have been hit in the head by line drives and were ok... thats just strange circumstances and hard to believe.

The comments are stupid! Rudolph is up there laughing his ass off at you. He died from a brain aneursym. He was hit in the head by a baseball hit with a bat by another inmate. The blow to the head and the aneursym bursting was TOTALLY CONCIDENTAL! That was proven without a doubt at autopsy. Some of you folks need to get a life.

Also, I don't make a habit of lying about anything. Murder is murder, accident is and accident and a natural death, is just that. Contact the family, they will tell you the same thing!!!

This 24 yr old beaten to death on the 4th and this.OMG,he messed up and hes paying for it now,but he sure dont deserve to die.My son is 22

Your son is safe at Ventress. The "ticking time bomb" is no longer employed there. There are good people that work there that aren't out to hurt or harm anyone. Just to do their job, keep everyone safe and go home to their families.

rriiigghhhttt... safe and go home to their families... then their friends... then their drugs they used to do with their friends... then next time instead of a machine at a car wash (oh yeah, and i'm sure that was his ONLY crime) this time he breaks into some elderly persons house and the friend he brings with him roughs her up possibly seriously injuring them this time.

maybe he hangs out with the same people who broke into my house last year.

hope he gets out real soon. and hope he tries to break in while i'm here with the 357 ready and waiting.

It happens. My wife's cousin was killed by a wild pitch during a church league softball game. They were playing slow pitch softball too!

Can someone tell me about visits to Ventress? how long does an inmate have to be there before visits are allowed? What days and times are visits on? I can't find the specific info that is just for this facility..the only info i find is generic for all AL facilities...thx

My son just called me from Ventress and has a whole bunch of people threating to stab him and kill him. I called there and they told me that they cant do anything that they dont have protective custody?
Ok, they do have a responsability to protect him, no matter what.I have wrote down the names that i spoke to and when the called was made. Nonsense. I will get to the bottom of this.

The bats were illegal. He was pitching and another inmate hit the ball and it came off the bat so fast that he had no time to react. It killed him. I witnessed it.
