im thinking about moving there aswell im from london,im 16 and im currently living in spain,so i know abit about emigration.iv done my research on the place and i personally think that the city of Anchorage is best, plenty of jobs its got the most population and its still really beatiful,i want to (when i can :) live on the out-skirts of the city, also electricaty is a big industry over there so ur fit in just right.also it dont matter what ur age is to move,iv spent 5 years out here in spain and im moving back to the uk next week to join the army.but emigration is tough,if ur up for it go ahead, ask ur family 1st thou, there tell u if ur maikin the right choose.

Why would you Englanders want to move to Alaska when we know how bad you Englanders hate Americans and constantly bashing us on your topix. We dont want any of you stay home.

firstly,we're English not Englanders . Secondly, like most of the other countries in Europe we are always confronted in the news by the way other governments run their countries. We therefore have a view of the world which is, like your own country brought before us by sensationalist news companies. We like to think that we can make up our own minds without being racist . I could batter you with figures on any number of failures of your government...take pollution for example . Which is some of the highest in the world. I understand that only a small percentage of Americans have passports, so perhaps this is the reason for your knee jerk, racist outburst.
Come to the UK and let me show you round. Then make up your mind about us :-)

I find it extremely interesting that the first two claiming to be British have such an atrocious grasp of spelling and punctuation. Frank's a bit better, but it does make one wonder if their schools are even worse than ours.

If you're from the U.K you most likely hate the Gun Laws in America. I'm not sure why you'd want to move somewhere that doesn't have the same tight restrictions as your country. If you do come to Alaska please leave your philosophy at home and respect the culture here. I've seen too many rude foreigners from Europe in Alaska bringing a Liberal, socialist mindset. Enjoy your travel and please be respectful.

I would love to move to the great land and to be fair that alaska once belong to Russia. Also that a lot of people speak Russian. I'm English and would love the chance to live out there and show my self I can do it you have a truly beautiful country and wildlife so why not embrace and share your land with others who wish to make a life there.

I've read many similar posts to this and do not understand where people are getting the idea from that us British are against the US gun laws! If people writing on posts like these wish to move to Alaska, don't you think they have researched this kind of thing and accept it! I myself live in the UK and love shooting game. And yes a few English people have used poor spelling and grammar on this post but a small proportion of a group does not represent the whole.

Hi All. I'm A British Citizen and at the ripe old age of 41 am looking to move to Alaska and live a subsistence life away from the pressures of modern life. I am all for Hunting and any other method of living from Natures bowl and have Been Shooting for many years now and would always defend the right to do so. We Brits are not all Anti Gun and there is an ever growing number of people taking it up all be it a lot harder than our US brothers and sisters. As I have done some research for quite some time but still feel there is a lot to learn I'd like some advice as to area's in Alaska to take into consideration when looking for some land/cabin. I would really appreciate any information that can be passed on to beat prepare for a move. I am planning on taking some time before committing to ensure I have covered all bases. Thanks for your time and I look forward to some responses.

Many of us suffer the UK gun laws and want to move to USA (Alaska) be free to enjoy our sport. we do not have a constitution allowing us to have many types of guns , nor preventing our Government from taking them away. Many of us are really into our shooting sports, so please do not miss judge us , from the ranting's of a few Brits. who like some Americans hate the sports associated with guns and shooting of any form. We can use guns just as well, responsibly, safely and may be better than you. I have trained in gun smith work and built them from scratch. 45 cal flint rifle ?

don't be so quick to make un qualified judgements about anyone or anything.
chill br'o's were on the same side. I got kin in US anyhow. god bless ya all.

I haven't received any feedback from anyone on this site so wouldn't hold your breath. From some of the earlier comments and replies it seems like the residents of Alaska don't want any Brits in their fine Country, unfortunately if you have the persistence and confidence to take the required steps there isn't a great deal these people can do to stop us living there, why wouldn't they want people to experience the freedom and beauty that is offered and just the thought of living a subsistence lifestyle and being able to fend for and live for myself is my driving force, my Children are grown and it's time for me to live my dream and unfortunately to some Alaskans that means me intruding on the thousands of miles of open country they have available. Don't give up. Give it all you've got to get out there.
