On Sunday, the University of Alaska Anchorage notified the public that a threat to UAA found on a blog had been investigated by the FBI and was found not to be a real danger.
The threat stated that the blogger was “disgruntled, out of work,” and threatened both himself and the university. The UAA alert states:
Local law enforcement received calls from people across the U.S. and Canada who had seen the blog post. The FBI took the lead investigating the situation and quickly identified the blogger. Officials responded to the blogger's residence and discovered that the person behind the keyboard was the 15-year-old son of a former UAA student. The blogger claims that he wanted to cause a problem on the blog board to see if anyone would respond.
