Any woman who qualifies for Medicare/Medicaid, and needs treatment for an unplanned/unwanted pregnancy, should face no more obstacles to said treatment, than she would for any other unwanted medical condition. Abortion costs far less than medical coverage for a child for 18 years. These bills are being proposed by Republican legislators, whose battle cries are "Fiscal Conservatism" and "Smaller Government". But the legislation proposed represents neither. It is merely punitive, and short-sighted.
