Travel promoters hope 'Sarah Palin's Alaska' has legs

While tonight's two-hour finale of the TLC series Sarah Palin's Alaska may be the last , tourism officials in The Last Frontier are hoping the scenic exploits of the Republican ex-governor and vice presidential candidate spark more visits from the Lower 48.

TLC might want to save their money.
Seattle to Anchorage is 3.5 hours, if the flight is not totally full - expect
"mechanical difficulties" - they never fly the flights unless the are totally full
Food, drink, hotel etc.- expensive!! Alaska residents get a check for over
$6,000 + each year to help off set the costs but no help for the tourists.

The place is larger, colder, pot holes you can lose your car in and taxidermed animals EVERYWHERE! gross after awhile, they have taxidermed kittens at the
cash register, wolverines in the bathroom and moose and elk everywhere.
The natives are poor, drunks are everywhere, most of the chicks look like men but with so few men - any women that does not look like Rosey O'Donnell is swamped. The housing is cheap, lots of mobile homes .. really major depressing in allot of areas - but don't worry, if you want to leave - there is a real good chance your flight will be delayed or cancelled.

The way Sarah Palin looks is the exception - lots of Eskimo and hard Russian features in the people, but most are friendly - trying to sell you something.
Watch out for those dog sled adventures .. it is allot of effort and not that much fun - abused dogs on overused rut filled paths. Makes you want to call the Humane Society.

Now that Palin's tv program has failed, she should consider being a tour guide for Alaska - One Week with Palin to learn about moose hunting and Russia.

So, how much should the state of Tennesse send me so I can come visit you? I figger about 5 grand otta cover it. Can I stay with you or do I need to get another trailer somewhere's else nearby?
