By quitting as Alaska governor, Palin likely lost the presidency

There are 250 comments on the The Morning Call story from Jul 23, 2009, titled By quitting as Alaska governor, Palin likely lost the presidency. In it, The Morning Call reports that:

W hen Sarah Palin surprised the press and public by stepping down as Alaska 's governor, she said, ''I'm not a quitter, I'm a fighter.'' In my study of women and the American presidency, two factors that significantly increase the chance of a woman president are perseverance and being governor.

I didn't judge her whole life. I DID form my opinion on what she has demonstrated during interviews. She didn't know what the vice-president did, and she was running for the office!!!!
"Stupid people are not governors of U.S states."
Are you kidding????
" Do you think you could run for governor and win? "
If I had the backing(money) and the desire(I don't), yes, I am sure I have the smarts to do the job. BUT, If I decided to run for that post, I would know after some research what it entailed, and would know if I was qualified or not!!!
O.K fine Palin screwed up the election and she paid the price by losing, why do people still need to attack her and her family? I find it funny that you think our elected officiuals are stupid, they are very smart and know how to play the game of politics, you and I do not. You could have a billion dollars and still not win an election...

As I posted before, sometimes you can make people look handsome or pretty, but you just can't fix stupid.
It seems like you're hung up against hugs too --huh, Windy? Too bad for you, kid (or childish adult). And that's seriously not a label. It's just the truth.
Your life, through and because of your own attitudes towards the world in which you live, probably will be a whole hell of a lot more complicated than it ever needs to be. And that's a shame for your own sake. I wish you and people like you well. I do, despite the fact that many/most of you likely don't think so.
Again, you are dismissed. Take care and good luck.
Take care, everyone.
Big hugs,

Calling people stupid based on what you know means nothing. Your liberal view of the world also means nothing, a person like you could not survive the night in a south side Chicago neighborhood. My life is great because of the way i look towards it. I don't live in the clouds and think all people are good and just ned help, I know there is bad in this world. The difference between me and you is I see it coming a block away and you walk right into it because you live in the liberal bubble. My attitude if fine because I'm not consumed by it...Life goes on but people like yourself need to wake up. Good luck in life Richard and no, I don't want a hug.

People still attack her because she is still presenting herself as a politician and she continues to show her monumental stupidity by starting things like "Obama's death panels want to kill my baby!"

That is why she deserves every bit of derision she has coming to her.

Presenting herself as a politician? I thought she stepped down and is now speaking as a citizen and voicing her opinion. Normal citizens are being bashed around the country for speaking out on this Obamacare too, it's wrong. There are many far left loons like Maher and Olbermann out there that don't get bashed and their families aren't made fun of.

So Americans should have the freedom of speech to criticize health care reform or the government or what have you, but everyone else should not have the freedom of speech to push back?

Liberals are attacking them personally, calling people against healthcare racists and nazi's and such, I do not see conservatives or the people at these town halls yelling personal attacks, they are voicing their opinion on a bill. Then some liberal goof in the crowd yells out racist, WTF? I saw it last night with my own eyes! How does being against a bill make you a racist? Pushing back is fine with me but labeling people as crazy or right wing loons is dumb and is getting people very angry.

What? Are you insane? The people yelling and screaming who are against the health care changes at the town hall meetings are screaming NAZI and SOCIALIST and GRANDMA KILLER left and right!

Jesus, watch more than one news channel why don't you...

One woman used nazi and she is an activist, I'm talking about the regular constituents stating their anger are being called names. Calling someone a racist for their views on healthcare makes no sense to me at all. Calling Obama a socialist seems to fit because of this healthcare bill and his far left views, not to mention his socialist freinds Frank Marshall Davis and William Ayers...

Okay, there is obviously no getting through to you. It is way more than one woman. A simple search of the news and image search engines will show that. But you don't see what you don't want to see.

I see anger coming from people who have a right to be angry, it's their insurance Obama is messing with. I love to see dissent, I don't like personal attacks that have nothing to do with the issue at hand though. Conservatives are stupid, are racist, are bigots, are bible thumpers and greedy...Bull. If people are calling Obama a socialist because of his policies and views I'm fine with that because they ahve a point. The same way I would be fine with people calling Palin a racist if she was caught attending a KKK meeting.
